Octuplets' mom already has 6 young kids at home.

I have a lot of criticism for the treating doctor as well because he did not operate under the guidelines in terms of how many embryos he implanted. That is without even taking into account how many children she already has. That compounded it, of course.

Beanie babies? LOL

I think the discussion of her previous children and her financial status are red herrings. If Nadya had been Mrs. Bill Gates, and didn’t have any children, and presented to an infertility doctor, the doctor STILL should not have implanted 6 embryos. It wouldn’t make the situation one bit better.

I think this is an excellent point!!! Well said.

Has anyone seen her in the clip with one of the older children on her lap and she is just showering the child with kisses? It seems too fake and obviously done for the camera, as is almost everything she does.

I haven’t seen that clip but I don’t find that odd in this case. Nadya has stated from the get go when asked how she is going to handle 14 children and she has implied tht she is just going to love them and hold them. I do believe that she loves them (and her kisses are genuine) but she is unrealistic in thinking that love and holding and kissing is enough. These kids are not dolls. There is much more involved, as we all know and the reality is going to hit her. She also knows she can’t bring the babies home just based on love and kisses she will give them. As well, love involves more than holding and kissing and she is not providing these other elements.

In the video Northstarmom posted Octomom says that she is moving to a new house, she expects to be in the new house by the time the babies come home, and the first baby is going to be coming home within a week.

So, umm… doesn’t she have to be packing, moving, and setting up the new house, which she’s going to be in a week from now? I’m just not seeing her words matching her reality.

Who wants to bet in less than a yr she will be evicted for non-payment?

She doesn’t have to pack she expects others to do it for her!

“We are all, each of us, one national scandal away from being offered a million dollars to star in a skin flick.”

I don’t agree with that statement in the Newsweek article. The vast majority of us are not one national scandal away from anything, because we are never going to consider doing something that would put us in the middle of a national scandal. The vast majority of us are leading lives that would never attract the slightest bit of media attention. And I’m pretty darn certain that if I somehow did make my way into a national scandal, no one would be offering me a million dollars to star in a skin flick. I think that’s also true for the vast majority of regular folk.

Cardinal Fang,

You’re thinking logically, which isn’t the world Nadya lives in! Anyway, from what the pictures show, there isn’t much furniture to worry about, and she’ll most likely just stuff the clothes into trash bags…that is unless she’s expecting new wardrobes to be donated for her kids. I wonder if the new house is already furnished and being donated by someone…so all she has to really do is abandon the house (and her mom)…and move on, to be supported once again, by others. 4 bedrooms is still not going to be a big enough home for 14 kids…maybe including her parents…and surely Nadya will require her own room, so she can have a place to rest and relax…she does need it, after nails, and hair…its exhausting. So, thats leaving 7 kids per bedroom. Most houses with 4 bedrooms are generally just about 3,000 sq. ft, give or take a few hundred feet. Thats a smaller then our house, and there are only 5 of us here, with 3 necessary full bathrooms. When the kids have friends over…the house feels cramped to me, lol. I just shake my head at each decision this lost woman makes.

I

I just watched the video blog–very interesting. First–if her goal was not to be a burden on taxpayers, then why did she continue to have children with no means of income? She needs to take an economics course. Her lack of critical thinking skills makes me wonder how she would ever be hired as a counselor.
Second, although kids will be kids, just watching the interaction with the kids at home makes me fear for the infants’ safety. It is clear that there’s not a lot of structure or self-control–which is imperative in any home with 6 kids, let alone 14!
Finally–I have never experienced a c-section, but jumping on a trampoline holding 2 heavy children only one month after? Is that recommended?

“Finally–I have never experienced a c-section, but jumping on a trampoline holding 2 heavy children only one month after? Is that recommended?”

And if memory serves she was on extended bed rest which tends to take a lot out of most women. Whatever else we think – physically this woman seems born to bear children (assuming availablity of IVF lol). What an amazing constitution! Does anyone know if she is nursing/pumping too?? I remember reports she planned on nursing the octuplets. If she’s nursed all the first six I am in total awe.

I read today that she is moving into a four bedroom, 2800 sqft house…and the article says it is quite large enough for EVERYONE. The master bedroom is large enough for the octuplets…so says the article. I have to tell you…I LIVE in a house that size with a finished basement. It is NOT large enough for 14 children and one adult. It’s just NOT.

She doesn’t think AHEAD!!
The master bedroom may be able to handle the octuplets as infants under 12 months or maybe under 18 months. They don’t stay infants too long, however.

I have difficulty imagining the scenario under which I would be offered 1 million dollars to star in a skin flick. :D

2.I can imagine a master bedroom that could accomodate 8 babies or kids…4 sets of bunk beds. Cozy like a freshman dorm, only larger scale. It’s possible. More difficult would be kitchen/eating space for all those kids. At least 2 washer/dryer combos, and umpteen baths!

Now Gloria Alred (sp?) is involved and Dr. Phil continues to be. There is going to be money flowing quickly for Octomom without a doubt. My money is still on Dr. Phil bankrolling her.

I thought her offer had been refused.

We do not need this law. It makes no sense to propose legislation in response to one crazy doctor. The vast majority of fertility doctors and patients behave responsibly.
