Octuplets' mom already has 6 young kids at home.

Thanks for the clarification, VeryHappy. I didn’t see the interview. But I wonder whether the daycare center can really accomodate all those children? Usually centers have a certain number of spaces for children in certain age ranges, and because they try to keep the places filled, often an opening is for a child of a certain age, within months. Is the center really going to be able to take 8 very young kids of the same age, as well as a few more older kids?

Beats the heck out of me, but that is her plan –

"just"amom, “that school” that is going to make special arrangements for child care appears to be Cal State Fullerton. Makes perfect sense to me as we all know that California schools are all flush with extra money to provide these services for that “special” student , Nadya!

I know a student who attends there that has a specific medical disorder and requires a very specific diet…yet, the cafeteria wouldn’t always accommodate him during his freshman year. He moved to an apartment for second year, so that he could prepare his own meals.

Yet, CSU Fullerton will be making special accommodations for Octo Mom. This is unbelievable.

Did anyone see Judge Judy with Larry King? She had some very definite opinions on this case, and as a former family court judge, she knows whereof she speaks. She felt strongly that DFS needs to step in. Since Nadya is receiving state aid, they have a perfect right to do this. She called Nadya “fragile” and said that the state needs to supervise the situation so that she doesn’t “snap” (my word) from the stress. I think the video is available on line.

However, I don’t think she is stressed. She does sound like a clueless 13-year-old. Bristol Palin sounds like an intelligent, sage adult next to her. You can just see that she’ll come out all right at the other end of the tunnel, along with her son. I remember a camp movie once where the kids were rioting around the adults. I can just picture Nadya standing in a living room tied to a pole while her 14 children riot around her. Clueless!

That is funny. I have this mental image now.

The cost of raising a preemie according to new article on CNN:

Maybe it would be cheaper and more palatable in the end, for the state of CA and society in general, for some entity to figure out a way asap to buy the babies from Nadya (if she would agree) and then place them for adoption.

swimcatsmom #1436
Much as I am appalled by this woman’s choices, that would set a horrible precedent. Where would we draw the line about deciding who is suitable to raise their own children? Scary thought.

Thanks for responding swimcatsmom. “deciding who is suitable to raise their own children” and if those with no financial resources have any basic right to reproduce and keep their offspring, etc. seems to me the main subtext of the thread and one I would be very intested in discussing but I seem to be in the minority LOL

ps. so sorry but I absolutely can’t figure out how to do the quote boxes!

I saw a clip of an interview with Bristol Palin, and she was quite articulate and sounded intelligent and eminently rational. Very different than Nadya.

I just realized that I was somehow thinking that they were about the same age - then it hit me that Nadya is twice Bristol’s age! She looks and acts like a teenager - it’s hard to remember that she is in her 30’s.

Agree that Nadya comes across as much younger than her chronological age.

Not only is it entirely unrealistic to think she can go back to school in the coming year, but even if she did, day care would be the least realistic option (as someone blatantly described getting in and out of the car each day could take hours, LOL. It would have to entail child care sitters coming into her own home which is, well, virtually its own day care center at this point. Problem is…even day care centers have strict guidelines of ratio of adults to children and so it is a wonder that one woman could care for 14 so young when a day care provider would not be allowed to do so.

I was struck by a comment Nadya made on the Dr. Phil show last week. Before she heard that she was getting all of the furniture and work done on the house, he asked her what she was doing to get ready. She said she had been planning to go to the store to get a crib mobile. That was her idea of “getting ready.” I do not believe that she is capable in any way of being the “go to” person in charge of the octuplets or the other kids. Even with the Angels taking care of all of the kids for some time to come, there are still so many things that need to be done that the Angels won’t be doing.

Just who will be taking these kids (all 14 of them) to their doctor/therapy appointments? The Angels? Will the docs make house calls?

I envision it going something like this:

Nadya gets up in the morning, gets herself ready for school, then says good morning to the child care workers who will basically be living there. She will pat a couple of the kids on the head and then off she goes for her busy day.

She’ll come back home, exhausted from a tough day at school, and sit down to a dinner that someone else has prepared. She’ll pat a couple of more heads, and then go out, because even a busy mom needs needs to set aside some time for herself, right?

When she gets home, the nice day care workers will have the 14 all set & ready for bed. Nadya will spend some real quality time with each one. A couple of kisses and hugs, gentle, gentle… and it’s off to bed for Nadya.

Honestly, I think that’s about all she is capable of handling.

I actually bet that doctors or nurses will go to the house, for house calls. It would be the smartest thing for the doctor to do, instead of having the circus constantly coming to his office, lol. But of course Nadya may want the attention of going to the doctor, for the “drama” effect.

Thank you.

This is out of control. They just showed the first two octuplets coming home and it is a zoo. There were a ton of people just hanging out in front of her house, then as the SUV drove in there were paparazzi hanging on to the car as it drove in. Of course now the news is interviewing these idiots…ugh.

I could not imagine living there right now between the news crews and helicopters.

I don’t feel sorry for Octomom as the news noted there was a camera inside the car, probably from Radar. I sure as heck hope us taxpayers get reimbursed from all this media money she is getting.

Yup the first two came home. Thanks goodness for the Angels that were waiting.

Yes, it looked like a real media circus. Such a shame for the kids and the neighbors. I wonder how much radar is paying Nadya for their ongoing filming of her daily exploits. They were with her in the car to/from Disneyland a well as at the park, and many of her other escapades. She seemed remarkably unconcerned that she had stayed out past 1 am with her 6 yr old daughter at Disney. She was also making her daughter, who was hiding in from the camera in the back seat, answer questions from the cameraman. She clearly didn’t want to, but mommy pushed and pushed her. At 1:30 am or so. Those poor, poor kids.

Thank you for the link. I must be the most inept person on CC because I cannot figure it out at all. I know there was a thread on using the quote feature a while back but I’m also too inept to find that thread. Can anyone lead me to it? Maybe I’ll try to see if I can understand it, but it’s not looking good.

mimk6
I wish I could find the thread where people demonstrated how to do it, but I cant either. So I’ll give it a shot at explaining. In my example I will **d o u b l e s p a c e **, but when you try it for real, you will need to single space, with no spaces in between. Does that make sense?? So, if for example you want to quote “The lazy yellow fox” try this: [ q u o t e ]t h e l a z y y e l l o w f o x[ / q u o t e ] . Take out all the spaces (except between the words) and you get
