Octuplets' mom already has 6 young kids at home.

That is horrible and she doesn’t deserve it. I think she truly does need security because she has become a “public figure”…in part, due to her own choosing, and then partly due to the unusual circumstances. Hopefully, she and her lawyer have put something in place.

I can’t believe someone would do that… what an idiot. This story is just so bizarre on so many levels. I happened to see the Dr. Phil rerun the other night where he had the Suleman lawyer and Gloria on the show. I came away liking the lawyer and hating Gloria and the Mercy Angels or whatever they are called. I wish Nadya well and hope she can manage to raise the children in safety and love. Something tells me that will not happen though.

I feel most sorry for her children. I can’t imagine being raised in that atmosphere. Not only are they targets for lunatics and hate mongers, there also are so many children, so many helpers, so much public attention, and so many problems for all to deal with including the normal needs of children as well as the extra needs of the special needs children.

NSM…I also feel sorry for the kids too. Each child deserves some individualized attention from their own parent and that is very difficult with 14 very close in age and also with just one parent to shower that attention. Care givers are not the same…they can address basic needs but are not the one a child must bond with. And with all these adults in the home and so much chaos, their development is greatly affected. That is without adding in the media attention and security concerns, or even the limitations (putting it kindly) of their own mother.

momof2inca, It’s “Angels in Waiting.” I was just thinking about how relieved I was when they volunteered to take over the care of the infants. It sounded so perfect. Now I see them in a much less rosy light. Making the rounds of the talk shows is beyond unprofessional. I’m wondering whether the organization existed before, or was set up just to jump on the Octo-train.

I was wondering the same thing NYMomof2. At first I thought it was such a great thing and now I think it was awful that they went on Dr. Phil. And Gloria! I thought her head would pop off at some point. She is so shrill and argumentative and proud. Very annoying. I can see how her involvement would escalate whatever emotions are in that house. She does not bring a peaceful, diffusing presence. Nadya’s lawyer seemed to maintain his decorum.

At least Dr. Phil had the sense to “back out” of the whole scenario and hopefully allow Nadya to have some privacy. He could have tried to stay involved through May (sweeps month). I guess that doesn’t preclude him doing some “follow up” television though.

She brought much of this disaster on herself, but there are people taking advantage of the situation in the “interest of the babies” but also for their own personal gain.

I feel sorrier and sorrier for her kids. Is Nadya going to be looking for love by exposing those kids to strange man after strange man?

“LA HABRA – Octuplets mom Nadya Suleman has finally negotiated a deal for a reality show.
According to In Touch magazine, the show would begin after Suleman’s eighth octuplet leaves the hospital.
In Touch senior editor Kim Serafin describes the concept as a cross between “Jon & Kate Plus 8″ and “The Bachelor.”
The magazine quotes an insider who says a deal is in place for her to be filmed 24/7.
“It’s about Nadya trying to raise 14 children while looking for love,” the insider explains…”

Oh yikes…

Bachelor # 1 - if I told you I had 14 kids all by invetro-fertilization, what one word would you use to reply?

Bachelor # 2 - one of my 14 kids (all by invetro-fertilization) wants to know if YOU’RE their daddy, what 3 word answer would you give?

Bachelor # 3 - imagine that I ask you to be my sperm donor (in case I want more invetro-fertilization) , in 2 words, what would your answer be?

Oh wait…that’s The Dating Game, not The Bachelor…darn…I thought it was gonna be a fun little game show, with a biiiigggggg kiss blown at the end!

facepalm

What scares me most is that "It’s about Nadya trying to raise 14 kids . . . "

What if she fails?

That reality show will never get off the ground, b/c as soon as it is announced they will be flooded with visceral hate mail, and won’t be able to find sponsors.

If pampers, huggies and gerber won’t donate b/c they got so much anti-Nadya mail, I doubt any other sponsor will either, especially when our economy is doing so poorly they have to make sure they are not associated with any negative images.

If the show gets off the ground it is because it is going to run on European channels and not here in the states.

I wonder how much she sold her pics to In Touch for.

First, I think Nadya WILL be able to have some sort of Realty Show because curiousity will ensure it getting off the ground.

But I feel REALLY sorry for these kids because to have a camera crew there 24/7 and the mom’s attention being focused on this show and all that goes with this, is NOT in their best interests. It is one thing to once/year do a news special interest segment on raising octoplets and quite another using them as a daily freak show where the show impacts their lives, as well as uses up their mother’s time and attention.

I read somewhere they might be doing it over the internet. That would make sense to me because they don’t have to worry about sponsors, and in the end of the day these shows need to make money and the sponsors are the rainmakers for their shows.

Latest update is she told the news that she maybe applying for WIC because it is costing her 2K a month in formula.

^^^ Well, duh. Anyone could have done the math . . . .

I’ve just been a lurker on this thread for many weeks. So many of you have posted my thoughts.

For some reason, the “might be applying for WIC” really hit me. Duuhhh! Even if the procedure had resulted in only one more child, how did she expect to pay for it? BTW–WIC benefits will be determined not just by the 8 infants, but the benefits will be determined by all her children under 5. How many is that?

All but one or two.

The last baby went home last night:

OK, I checked that link and, I know this is kind of petty, but how is it the her tummy is that flat so soon after carrying eight babies – or every for that matter? I am NOT suggesting she did anything – just wondering how some women’s bodies can do that.

Actually, just two weeks after my first (a singleton, I’ll grant you), I got whistled at while I was walking down Broadway in NYC. I snapped back with no problem.

(Actually, not only was he a singleton, but he was six weeks early to boot. So I only gained around 21 pounds in the first place.)
