She also just got a ticket for texting while driving and the police say at least 1 child was in the car.

Now Nadaya says she may have screwed up her kids lives. The older ones want to know who their daddy is, and, she says, are asking that every day. She also said she coerced him to donate the sperm.

Yes, and she has also admitted that the last 8 were frozen embryos left over from prior attempts.

But she loves them, and she holds them, and that should be enough.

Well no.

I’m just saying that everyone sees this as a “strain of resources”. Personally I think the scientific opportunities for study might outweigh the eight million dollars. You’d get to compare identical twins and fraternal twins in the same family and of the same generation, which would a good opportunity to achieve some breakthroughs in genetics.

Should she prove to be an unfit mother, the state can intervene if needed.

It is very difficult to study an autistic child. Prior to the birth of the octuplets her other children were showing physical problems. There are many families that use IVF and have sets of sets. J &K quickly come to mind, and they do not have medical issues. The study would be difficult to perform due to the medical issues that the children have.

More importantly, children should never be seen as a good opportunity to achieve some breakthroughs in genetics. They are not science experiments, they are people who were brought into this world because of a narricistic person. The children, teachers, and state tax payers will be paying for her selfishness.

Octomom’s kids may already be part of a long term twin’s medical study. It is called the California Twins Project, and all of the twins born in California are part of it. It is run by USC Medical School. I am part of it myself, I was born in the 1950’s, and they first contacted me 20 years ago. They send out periodic questionnaires, and try to determine whether medical issues are genetically predispositioned or not by comparing the twins’ results with the population at large.

[California Twin Program](http://twins.usc.edu/)

And it remains questionable that her 8 contain identical twins. She said that 6 were transferred and so 2 have to have divided after transfer. That is if she is telling the truth. We know that she does not do that consistantly. And given her shady IVF doctor, that is if he is telling the truth. Now that we know that he was the doctor and the lab director and the embryologist all wrapped in one, he might have transferred 8 eggs. Until there are genetic test results released that confirm the 8 contain two sets of identical twins, my guess is that the are all fraternal.

Since this had been such a popular thread on CC…I figured I would post the latest news…

Octomom Pens Deal for Kids to Star in Reality TV Show

AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHH!!!

Can’t believe this thread is back. Naughty soozievt.

How will this turn out?

[Nation & World | Octomom calls for dismissal of child labor lawsuit | Seattle Times Newspaper](http://seattletimes.nwsource.com/html/nationworld/2009510560_apusoctuplets.html)

Isn’t child labor a problem only when it prevents kids from concentrating on their studies and/or endangers their health?

That lawsuit sounds like something Calvin from Calvin and Hobbes would file. Except it’s even more groundless than ‘my chores is child labor’!

do people really like watching train wrecks???

Am I the only person on the planet that has NEVER watched ANY reality show. No American Idol, no Dancing with the stars, no So you think you can dance, no Greatest inventor, no Survivor, no Big brother, no Bachelor(ette), no Nanny. NOT ONE EVER.

I’ve never watched even one episode of a reality show, either, sueinphilly. I almost never watch TV at all. I did hear about West Wing, after it had gone off the air, watched a couple of rerun episodes, and bought the entire series when Amazon offered it at a very low price. S1 and I are watching it, but we are still in the first year.

I also have old Mary Tyler Moore shows on DVD. Love those!

Cheaper by the Dozen? Woman Claims She’s Pregnant With 12 Babies
Monday, August 17, 2009

A woman is pregnant with a record-breaking 12 babies, the Sun reported Monday.

The teacher, who has not yet been named, is expecting six boys and six girls, according to reports. She conceived the babies following fertility treatments, after suffering a number of miscarriages.

Fertility experts confirmed the extraordinary pregnancy in Gafsa, Tunisia, was possible, but carried “colossal” risks.

“The woman could have been receiving ovulation induction treatment, which stimulates egg production. You don’t have the same control as with IVF,” said Dr. Mark Hamilton, of the British Fertility Society.

The woman, who will need constant medical monitoring, reportedly told doctors she was “feeling fine and looking forward to hugging her six boys and six girls.”

“In the beginning, we thought that my wife would give birth to twins, but more fetuses were discovered,” said the father, named in local reports only as Marwan. “Our joy increased with the growing number.”…

I’m sure she’ll carry them all to term and that they’ll all be fine.

Yeah, right.

“Am I the only person on the planet that has NEVER watched ANY reality show. No American Idol, no Dancing with the stars, no So you think you can dance, no Greatest inventor, no Survivor, no Big brother, no Bachelor(ette), no Nanny. NOT ONE EVER.”

Add me to the list of people who don’t watch those things. I basically don’t watch TV. During the last year, all I’ve watched are the election returns and I watched TV inauguration day. Period. I don’t miss it.

12? Are humans trying to evolve into cats?

(My sister, a veterinarian, doesn’t recommend selecting a puppy or a kitten from a litter larger than 6 because animals born in oversized litters are prone to all sorts of health problems. Joy? What is this family thinking?)

NSM…like you, I rarely watch TV anymore. When one has CC, who needs TV? CC is more entertaining! :D

I have barely seen any of the reality shows either and don’t follow them. I did see American Idol in the first year I think as my younger D still lived at home and that was one of the only shows she ever watched (or taped) as she is a singer. I have not followed it since then. It’s funny but about ten days ago, I flew back from Europe alone into Boston and for me, it felt like the middle of the night and I could not make the drive back to VT safely and spent the night in a hotel and did not have a laptop and was so exhausted and I got into bed and turned on the TV since I never watch TV and it happened to be the final night of So You Think You Can Dance and I sleepily watched it!

Now, I may have to change my habit with no TV and not following Reality Shows because my D’s a capella group was contacted by NBC and asked to submit materials and to audition for their upcoming new reality show about a capella! It is to be called Sing-Off, I believe. Now, the chances of them being one of the groups selected to compete are not great (though frankly, they are an award winning group and very good), but if she ever made it on with her group, I would HAVE to watch!

OK, back to our regularly scheduled program about the contest of who can have the most babies at one time! :p

Disgusting!

Physician’s out there, at what point will a uterus rip? And would 12 not crush other organs? This is so nasty on so many levels. How many eggs do you think were implanted to result in 12 fetuses? At some point, fertility Dr.'s HAVE to be held accountable.

I just assumed Octomom was a freak of nature in her ability to carry 8 babies to term. I also understand the desire to have a child, but where will this insanity end?
