<p>Please write a 200-400 word essay on one of the following topics. Be specific and write as clearly and effectively as you can.</p>

<li><p>“As students, we were asked to discuss the most likely social ramifications of a light bulb in the center of each forehead that would shine brightly whenever its bearer told a lie. The major conclusion most of us drew was that, without our ability to lie successfully much of the time, Western Civilization would soon come crashing down. The more obvious casualties included parenting, friendship, advertising, retailing, religious ceremonies, courtship, politics, jury trials.”

Do you agree or disagree with this conclusion? Explain and discuss your answer.</p></li>
<li><p>In the novel Animal Farm by George Orwell one character states, “All animals are created equal but some animals are more equal than others.” Do you agree? If so, how do you see this as being relevant in our world today?</p></li>

<p>To me these questions seem rather odd for an admission essay. Which should I choose. Any thoughts?</p>

<p>I disagree with Yurtle. While it may help to have read Animal Farm, it is not necessary because they want an essay about the specific quotation, and this does not require the context of the quote. In fact, many essay questions involving quotations specifically say that outside research is not required.</p>

<p>Instead, I would simply choose the one that you can write the best essay for. ;)</p>

<p>If you can’t decide, go the overachiver CC route and write one for both questions. :)</p>
