Odds of getting off Waitlist

Did you get a waitlist survey before?? How long do you have to decide? Thanks so much and congrats!

Congratulations. Which school are you and the two others attending at BC?

no, surprisingly. i was about to commit to uva (standing in a uva hat lol) when i got a text notification that i had a status update. i’m not sure how others were notified but after my text i checked the portal and had an acceptance letter! i have until may 2nd at 11:59 to decide officially.

thank you!! i’m actually attending uva in the fall and i believe one of the girls is attending MCAS, which is also what i was accepted for.

Congratulations! Did BC also email you a continued interest survey before that or did you just get the text?

thank you!! but no, i don’t think they felt it necessary because i was already accepted and off the waitlist technically.

Did everyone get the continued interest survey? I mean how many times do you have to reaffirm that you want to go there? Getting kids’ hopes up just to collect more data to protect their yield rate … really souring on this whole process

Boston College called my guidance counselor. After I sent in my LOCI is this a good sign? They said they would let me know by mid-may. I already got accepted to Villanova RD.

Not sure if this means that you could get in off of the waitlist, but it’s certainly not a bad sign. Best of luck!

I don’t know the odds but I know a current BC freshman who got in off the waitlist last year.

What area do you live in?

My daughter was recently named Valedictorian of her class. She has taken just a few AP’s but almost all Honors classes. She did not submit her test scores because she was not pleased with them. However, she is highly involved in her school and surrounding community, and her extracurriculars truly reflect who she is as a person. All of that matters. Best of luck!

Congratulations! The last time I checked the financial section, I read that we had not submitted anything so I have no idea. Unless it was merit-based, none of my four kids have ever gotten anything extra so I’m not holding out hope for anything. How about you?
