I had to pay the whole year’s housing fee because I’m an International student; I’ve heard you can cancel your housing contract for $200. Do you think it’d be possible for me to do that?

If yes, where do I start my search for off-campus housing? I know craigslist and uloop are two options. Are there any others?

I would say that cancelling your housing contract isn’t worth the hassle you have to go through with moving during the school year. I moved from Foothill dorms to a northside apartment in June. Buying furniture, installing furniture and shopping for necessities took a huge effort. You probably don’t want to do that during the year, unless you can find an apartment that is already furnished perfectly to your needs.

So the best time to search for housing, in my opinion, is near the end of the school year. April is probably the best time to start.

I would definitely say that craigslist is one of your best bets for finding off campus housing. The other good way to find pretty nice housing thats not too expensive is to drive around the area and look for rent signs, some people dont post the rentals anywhere so the only way to find them is to look.
Hey, whats up? I’m actually looking for a roommate now, if anyone needs one. I found this nice apartment for like 1500, can’t afford it by myself. I gotta know by today, because my other offer pretty much is over at 6:30- if there are no replies, I think I’m going to take it. Feel free to call at 805-618-8132!
