Off-campus outings for Parents Weekend?

<p>Anyone have some suggestions for fun outings off-campus? Where might we take our daughter, since we’ll have a car? Any place cool that she’s not likely to have heard about? </p>

<p>This is not our first Parents Weekend, and previously we had fun sticking around campus, but want to make the most of it this year.</p>

<p>We’re not from the Northeast, so nothing is too obvious for us. :-)</p>

<p>Grads/parents of seniors – any place you are now thinking, “Gee, I wish I’d taken a jaunt to ____ while we were involved with Yale…”?</p>

<p>If you are musical theater fans or think you might be, you should consider a trip to the Goodspeed Opera House in East Haddam, CT, about a hour or so drive. It is a beautiful old-fashioned professional theater along the river. In the Fall if it is a nice day the drive will be beautiful and the setting certainly is.</p>

<p>And I would recommend taking a drive through the woods of Central and Eastern CT if the weather is nice. They are gorgeous.</p>
