<p>I am going to be a sophmore in high school next year and I would like to know if I am off to a good start to get into a top school.</p>
<p>Age:14
GPA: 97.410 UW, 99.580 W
SATI: Not yet, but got a 1850 in 7th grade
SATII: Plan to take Biology one next year
Unaware of class ranking as of now</p>
<p>Freshman Classes: Honors English, Global History, Bio, Geometry, Spanish 2, Public Speaking, Design and Drawing for Production
Sophmore Classes: Honors English, Algebra 2, Spanish, AP Biology, AP Euro History, Public Speaking 2</p>
<p>ECs:
-Varsity Cross Country, Indoor & Outdoor Track Runner as a freshman (only freshman in school to do so; will be captain by junior year most likely)
-Science Congress Member (hopefully an officer in coming years; attended Stony Brook Science Symposium, will attend Science Congress)
-Member of Speech and Debate (will be captain by junior year)
-Elected as Class President for Junior year</p>
<p>Awards:
-National Spanish Exam gold and silver medal winner (will take it next two years)
-Hofstra Essay Contest Winner
-Nationally ranked freshman track runner
-Finished 5th in New York State for JV Speech (hopefully will do the same in the coming years)
-Plan on entering MANY more writing contests</p>
<p>Community Service:
-Worked with children with Autism at local school
-Volunteered for the popular television show, “Extreme Makeover Home Edition.”
-Tutored children struggling in school at local library
-Volunteered at local temple
-Plan on spending next summer doing volunteer work exclusively</p>
<h2>So, am I on the right track? What should I work on? Being that all of the above was accumulated during freshman year, what else should I focus on for the coming years? What are my chances of getting into a good school so far? Thank you.</h2>
