Going to college out-of-state next year. I will live in a college dorm and will take my car with me to the campus. Will I have to get a new out-of-state driver’s license and new license plates for the car? If the answer is no, and my permanent residence remains that of my parent’s home, how do I register to vote at my new college location? Do college students generally vote on their campus, or a nearby polling site? How does this work?

We kept car, and all other info registered to home address. DOrm addresses change every year, so that really doesn’t work.
AS for voting, you can get an absentee ballot for any election, and mail it in. Some states do not let college students use the college address for voting and they need to be registered at home.
Hope this helps…

Also check with the school, many do not alllow freshman cars, and have no place to park them. IT might not be worth the aggravation.
