It certainly sounds like you are off the waitlist and have been accepted. Congratulations, if that is what you were hoping for.

“Congratulations on your acceptance to Northeastern University! We look
forward to your arrival on campus.” Seems like you got in to me. Congrats.

I got in too :). 3.2 GPA, 1330/1990 SAT, 31 ACT, Hispanic male from central-NJ. #2 public school in NJ. Funny how things work out.

My letter was a little bit different, though:

Dear Daniel:

I am pleased to inform you that you are among a small group of waitlisted students who now have an opportunity to join the fall 2008 entering class at Northeastern University.

Since demand is high for the limited spaces we have available, please confirm your interest by replying to this e-mail by 5pm on Thursday, May 8. Once we receive confirmation of your interest, we will provide you with additional information about the enrollment process.

Please be assured that a space is available in the major of Management in the College of Business Administration. In addition, University housing is still available.

My financial aid was then given ($10K scholarship), and a phone number to contact in case I had any questions.

For those who got off, what is your major?

yea i got that letter today. :-)

I too got an email today too, more like the second one. I got into International Business as my major.

got that. i’m undeclared. so are you going? i’m not.

so we’re supposed to put a down payment on housing by may 13th and yet i haven’t received anything in the mail yet…should i be worried yet? i know i can call the school but it’d be nice to check out the info they send you.

brieb did you just get your letter on the 9th?

My son got the same letter, but the admissions department said it was a mistake and that they hadn’t let anyone in off the waiting list, yet. Have you heard anything different?

That’s interesting.

It’s frustrating.

That must’ve have been a mistake on the admissions part because there have been a lot of people who have been taken off the waitlist already. Maybe try giving them another call?

I got in too with the 10k :/

My son got in off the waitlist, so far everything has been electronic; the decision letter, the ability to get on myneu, ect…but he hasn’t yet received a welcome packet in the mail. Anyone else?

no its not a mistake. I was at Northeastern on friday and spoke with the dean of admissions because i had gotten off the waitlist and wanted to make sure i’d be able to change my major if I were to attend. What she told me was that:
1,200 people were offered spots on the waitlist
800 people accepted spots on the waitlist
30 people had been taken off
she said more people will be taken off as space in their program becomes available

Can those of you who got in off the wait list tell us your majors, SAT scores, GPA’s? Just wondering if there’s any hope. Thanks. And congratulations!

I had read (somewhere, can’t find it again) that your chances of getting off the waitlist was dependent on your major. That health care, pharmacy, and architecture were full and not admitting anyone off the waitlist.
