Offbeat Celebrity Crushes

@stradmom Just curious. What is offbeat about Harrison Ford and Chris Hemsworth?

When I was in high school my big crush was Willem Dafoe - many thought it was strange, as he was much older and some thought odd looking.

@Leigh22 Good one! I was waiting for someone to say Willem Dafoe or Steve Buscemi.

Sometimes, offbeat isn’t about who the other is but how it seems a surprise for who we are.

Alan Rickman in Robin Hood, first time I ever saw him. Jimmy Stewart. Jeremy Renner as the nerdy physicist in Contact.

Although I’d be considered a young man for her LOL, I have had a long time crush on Ann Curry. She is as equally smart and funny as she Is beautiful.

Gordon Ramsey. Robert Irvine. Denis Leary. And especially Raoul Esparza.

My daughter, bless her heart, had a mad crush in elementary school – on Bob Barker, of The Price Is Right. And this kid was raised in our TV-free household! As a first grader, she insisted that she and Bob would eventually get married. I assume she must have seen the show at her grandmother’s house. She actually did her 3rd grade research project on him (“My Hero, Bob Barker”), and it contained many interesting little-known facts about Bob. The school librarian (and I) thought the whole thing was quite amusing.

My first crush was Mr Green Jeans from the Captain Kangaroo show.

Gotta love it when your offbeat entry is so out there that people criticize you for the mainstream comparisons…

Trivago man always looked like he needed a shower and a shave to me. Ha.

That’s part of what makes Trivago man so hot.

I have a weird appreciation for Billy Bob Thornton. I’m sure he’s too weird in real life to even talk to for more than 30 seconds.
I also liked Kevin Spacey but since his revelations I’ve dropped him.

+1 on the Trivago guy. And firefighters too.

…off to Google Trivago man…

I agree Chekov was adorable. He was amazingly good in Babylon Five where he was not adorable at all. My mother had a fondness (which I shared) for Elrond - otherwise known as Hugo Weaving.

@PetraMC I 2nd Reza - I was so disappointed when his show was cancelled! However, my new ‘Reza’ is Rabhaan Rizwan - too bad I’m old enough to be his grandmother!

Some of y’all’s “offbeat” crushes are as handsome and mainstream as all get out.

I’ll go with Steven Tyler.

Speaking of Steven Tyler - Todd Rundgren. Loved him. He jumped into the audience decades ago at a concert and I touched him. I touched Todd Rundgren !!!

Not Checkov, but the person Sulu turned out to be. Not a real crush, but on my “wish I knew him” list.

It’s not the unshaven thing about Trivago man. It’s much sexier than that. Bet that applies for those of you with rock star crushes.

Btw, my first “wanna marry him” was Johnny Carson.

Jerry Lewis! :x
