As a kid I watched “Bonanza” and couldn’t decide who was cuter, Little Joe or Adam, ha.
Adam, of course.
Once The Avengers went off the air my crush was Barbara Bain on Mission Impossible. :-*
@sevmom I thought you meant Richard Simmons!! :))
My daughter always thought Adrien Brody was cute. I always found that strange.
@HiToWaMom You mean when I said J.K. Simmons?
@artrell I agree with your daughter and actually meant to mention him earlier!
@sevmom Yes, when you said J.K. Simmons. If you had crush on J. K. Simmons after watching Whiplash, there is something wrong with you. (I mean, his acting was great! but the character was just so evil… Or did you have crush on him because of the insurance commercial?)
@artrell My daughter thinks he is cute, too. She always likes guys with narrow angular semi-crooked faces.
@HiToWaMom I actually was agreeing with @frazzled1 , who first brought up J.K. Simmons. I loved him in Law and Order. Also, like him in the insurance commercials. He is not a major “crush” for me, but I do like him. Most actors, if they are lucky enough to have a long and varied career, are going to play at least one unlikable character in their time on screen! It’s acting!
Always had a thing for Prince. Found him incredibly sexy. Lenny Kravitz too, that whole bad boy thing. Matthew Broderick’s boyish charm and sense of humor always got me. Kind of an eclectic mix, lol. I’m straight but I think Uma Thurman is uniquely beautiful (haven’t seen pics lately but definitely when she was popular).
@HiToWaMom, my Simmons crush isn’t on the character he played in Whiplash, of course - I just mentioned his Oscar to help identify him. He gave one of the most charming speeches of the evening when he won back in 2014, demonstrating the huge gap between actor and role. My crush goes back to his performances as the shrink on Law and Order, the wonderful dad in Juno, and the editor in the Spider Man movies a few iterations ago.
Simmons was on the Rich Eisen Show today. He’s on a couple of cable shows and will be on Brockmire coming up in the next season. He’s a great interview.
However, no crush for me.
Always thought Fairuza Balk an offbeat hottie, esp in “The Craft” Those eyes!
When I was younger and he was alive, Jerry Garcia… Currently David Tennant.
Kate Bush, Maggie Gyllenhaal, Mary Steenburgen.
@cameo43 @sevmom
I got to meet and talk to Robert Irvine for a couple minutes last year! He was at his restaurant in Las Vegas.
And why is he considered an offbeat crush? He is a bodybuilder chef that also provides great service and support for military vets. :x
Alyssa Milano (although I hate her recent political ramblings), Tiffany Amber Thiesen (awesome on Beverly Hills 90210) and Mimi Driver.
@taverngirl Lenny Kravitz is flat-out sexy and made a great couple with Lisa Bonet. I was sad when they broke up. But now she’s with Jason Momoa and they are all three friends and that’s also great!
I fell in love with Paul Newman after seeing him in “Exodus.” Imagine my horror when I later learned that he was but one month younger than my father!
I don’t think I have ever had an offbeat crush - mine over the years have included that Nazi kid from Sound of Music (glad I’m not the only one, lol!),Robert Redford, Brad Pitt and the late Jan Michael Vincent. However, my all time favorite from earliest memory is Kurt Russell. I have a thing for blonde guys and married one.
So back in 1986 or so I lived in England and at the time I thought Jonathan Ross was super cute. If you google 1980s Jonathan Ross you might see what I mean. I’ve grown out of that one though!
As an adult, big fan of John Krasinski. And there was always something about Alan Rickman I found interesting. Nicolas Cage. I’ll also add John Cusack and Gary Sinise too!
@ScienceGirlMom I find Robert Irvine as “offbeat” in the context of the OP’s probable intent-not classically handsome or one of the usual suspects (Brad Pitt, George Clooney, etc.) Robert has charisma, there’s something about him. Glad you got to meet him!
