Offbeat Celebrity Crushes

I was madly in love with Richard Dawson during his time on Match Game '7X, but he was more of a fantasy father figure than a romantic interest. He had kids the same age as me.

This is an interesting thread, not so much for the content, but rather the heavily skewed nature of the set of respondents.

I also had it bad for Louis Jourdan in Dracula.

Can I be the first person on this thread to mention J.K. Simmons (Law and Order, Oscar for Whiplash)? And speaking of L & O, Jerry Ohrbach - though my crush goes back 50 years to when he starred in the first Broadway show I ever saw, Promises, Promises.

@ChoatieMom - I’ll never forget the time my mom and grandmother visited and GWTW happened to be on TV. That shot of Clark Gable at the bottom of the stairs stopped 4 generations of us cold - my grandmother, my mom, me, and my three daughters. Thanks for a fun reminder!

Oh, my have another weird crush…Gary Oldman. The Scarlett Letter, Dracula.

J.K. Simmons, Jerry Ohrbach, Gary Oldman. All great, something about them!

A much younger Gerard Depardieu.

Not offbeat, but my first celebrity crushes (when I was a young teen) were Michael Landon, from his Bonanza days and Michael Douglas, from his Streets of San Francisco days. I still have a crush on Michael Douglas. I also loved Christopher Plummer when I first saw him in the Sound of Music.

More recent and slightly offbeat–Jason Bateman, Mark Duplass and Chris Messina

John Linnell of the band They Might Be Giants. Not fully over this one.

I thought of another one. Robert Krulwich.

I had never heard of Trivago Man before! I Googled him, and was intrigued to discover he had played a role in The Sopranos’ first season.

I think Michael Angarano of The Knick and This is Us is just the cutest thing there is, even though I could easily be his mother.

Gene Wilder. Fred Rogers. Bob Ross. And that Hitler Youth kid in The Sound of Music.

Diana Rigg on The Avengers was my first teenage crush!

I think Diana Rigg was a teenage crush for a lot of guys of my generation! Right now I think my dh has a crush on Jane Fonda who is old enough to be my mother, but definitely looks younger and hotter than me. Should I be worried? ;))

Girl crush? Xena: Warrior Princess. Xena. Not Lucy Lawless out of character.

Girl crush: Sandra Bullock

As for ships that passed in the night - meaning men that were way older than me in real life, but I saw them in old shows/movies when I was young - Christopher Plummer from sound of Music…the scene where they are dancing outside his engagement party…just seeing him tighten up his white gloves before cutting in on his son…and Nick Barkley from what was the show? It was a western TV show, in reruns when I was a kid. Also Robert Wagner, who I fell in love with in kindergarten, watching It Takes a Thief in reruns…until there was a scene of him putting in an office with no shoes on, and his feet were ugly!

As a teenager, Thor in the comic books. Thor in the Marvel movies does not disappoint either.
