Just a weird thought…there is no doubt that those got accepted worked hard and are willing to work hard. But what if…? Did this ever happened in Chicago?

It happened to one of my friends last year. She got into cornell, chicago, wash U, and some state schools.

she was commited to chicago, but the offer got rescinded.
when that happened, it was after the deadline for accepting the admission offers for other schools also. so, yea, that sucked.

I think she ended up going UW-madison somehow.

how bad were her grades second semester?

I heard it dropped quite a bit; and I am pretty sure that’s the reason that the offer was rescinded…but It was still around B average.

speaking of grades…damn, I hope I am okay.
I will just shoot myself if my offer gets rescinded. :-(

Not possible. If you have a B average at the end of the year, and got into uChicago, your offer will not rescinded. You have to screw up a lot more than that. It is possible that her offer was rescinded for another, non-academic reason, but no way would they rescind an application just for someone’s average dropping to a B.

well, I don’t know then
she didn’t do drugs.
she didn’t get caught for any offences.

what other reason could be there?

Was she a RD applicant?

and…she didn’t ask her teacher to write and explain…I think that really helps.

how bad is too bad?..how about in the case of 2 Cs but the rest are As… all being AP classes?

the drop is relative to the grades that you had. if you were a straight A’s student but upon acceptance, you got two C’s, that is pushing it.
