Offered an interview for Peer Facilitating!!

Hello!

My college has this first year program where each freshman is required to take a first year experience course. Each class has two peer facilitators (as well as a professor) that do ice breakers, help out the professor when need be, etc. Peers are required to also take a 4 credit course during the semester for which they peer facilitate for.

In order to get the position, we were first required to partake in a group interview. We did 3 things. First, we did an activity where we had to build a tower out of gumdrops, marshmallows, and toothpicks. One person was blindfolded, one could not talk, and one could not use their dominant hand. The second activity was we had to read a list of ten potential applicants for the peer facilitator position. Individually, we had to rank the students from 1-10 on how good of a fit they were for the role. Then, we came together as a group (10 of us), and we collaboratively made the list as a team. Lastly, we played a game where we were given a scenario (for example, a student wants to get involved on campus and they ask you for help. What do you do?), and we had to work on a team of four against the other team, come up with an answer, and present it.

As we did each of these activities, current peer facilitators, advisors of the program, and all of these other “higher-up” staff were taking notes on each of us as we performed each activity.

We were told we would get an email sometime tonight or tomorrow morning with a decision on whether or not we made it to the next round (an interview with just you and a few people in charge of the program).

Well, I got home today, and I got offered an interview in the next round. I am required to provide my résumé and 3 references for my interview. I really do not have a résumé made since I did not know it was required for this. Could someone please help me devise one? What would be best to include? I am only a freshman, and I am not involved much on campus yet since I wanted to take it easy during my first year. Do I include things I did in high school?

Please help, since I really would like to get this position. I was thinking of transferring from this school, but I want to get involved before I make that decision.

Oh, and there are ~120 total applicants (less than half made it to the second round of interviewing) and there are only about 10 spots open for peer facilitators.

For my references, I am thinking of asking my first year experience professor since she took such a liking to me. Secondly, I am thinking of asking my neighbor since I have known her for years, and I’ve been her dog walker for years. I also have babysat for her dog in the past and stayed in her house overnight. And I am not sure who to ask since I do not have work experience. Just volunteer experience on presidential campaigns, but I did not really form any relationships there… Helpppp

Sorry if this all seems out of order or if it makes little sense. I am just so excited since I just got the email.

Thanks so much.
