Official 2005 - 2011 Decision Thread

About time you posted your decision haha better late than never! :D

is a 3.6 too low for dartmouth?

My decision is up. I have been rejected.

Good luck to everybody else!

waitlisted :-/

rejected-ouch

Where can you access the decision?

waitlisted!

Oh yeah we can expect hell lot of waitlists this time!

i’m in! good luck to the rest of you.

so what must we waitlisted outcasts do? im sure being proactive in someway can help… any suggestions??

Sorry if I sound pessimistic, but it really doesn’t look too good for waitlisters. Usuallly, Dartmouth accepts what, 10 off the waitlist max? Last year it was 0. And with an overfull '11 class, I’m sure they won’t be too eager to pull kids off the waitlist. But that doesn’t mean you shouldn’t try. Give it a shot… get your grades up to show you care… start a club or something.

Paint yourself green. Streak through the grounds.

But seriously Class of 2012 is going to be as big if not bigger than '11. So I echo what sneamia.

I would like to politely disagree with sneamia and ajayc. With prospective students applying to SO MANY awesome schools this year, more so than in the past, I have a feeling WL’s will be tapped in to, big time. Maybe it’s just an inkling, but there’s hope, waitlisters!

The Daily Dartmouth reports the college:

had 16,536 applications
admitted 2,190
expects 1,080 to enroll
waitlisted another 1,500

fyi…hang in there!

yeah, i actually know alot of kids who got likely letters but were accepted recently to HPYS and decided to definetly go to those over dartmouth. I really hope there are ALOT of overqualified kids like this. Cross the fingers!

^ i got a likely letter and i got absolutely owned by all the other ivies (except cornell)…and i applied to all of them. its ok though, dartmouth is better :)

I applied ED and got rejected, however, yesterday when I opened my mailbox I saw a big acceptance letter (which makes no sense because my school probably didn’t send the first semester grades to Dartmouth). Now it is my turn to reject Dartmouth, because I got into Williams which after much consideration is a better fit for me. Has this happened to anyone else (they reject you when they really meant to differ you)?

Whoa, that’s pretty weird.
