General Comments: Remember that you can only go to one place in the end. It’s just that you can’t count on any one place.

cms, you scared me half to death; your reply put this thread at the top of the page, so when I saw “Official decisions thread” and several people had posted, I basically had a heart attack. No worries though.

hey everyone
I love Dartmouth… but I probably have around a 3.7 unweighted GPA…
Would you say that SAT/ACT+ application essay would trump grades/GPA, or vice versa?

And how do you know? Pretty much, what do they think is more important?

because… EVERYONE here has a 4.0

AHHH

gpa is more important i think. what you do over four years means more than what you do in one morning.

If I get into Dartmouth with my GPA, I’ll set a world record.

What do you think of a 3.7 UW GPA?

That’s a lot higher than mine. Ugh, I’m not getting in…I’m so nervous…couldn’t do anything today.

Anyone who is applying to Dartmouth should check out The Dartmouth Daily Newspaper’s Facebook page for links to articles.
News, Opinion, Sports, and Comics are posted daily and will give anyone a feel for what it’s like to be a student at Dartmouth!!

Has anyone every heard of a “pre-decision” letter where the school basically tells the student “We haven’t sent out acceptances, but we love you so much we will offer you admission so you can relax now and not stress about it anymore”?

Yes, those are called “likely letters,” and are very good news.

so two weeks to go. It’s so close but seems so far at the same time. I’ll be on a bus to florida with my school orchestra when they come out. hopefully there’s 3G where I’m going to be at 5.

ten days. anyone else freaking out?

almost. not there yet. but about a week before I started freaking out for ED, so it’ll come soon.

Except for those with likely letters, is anyone else able to access the Class Directory? I was just wondering since it’s so close, if some already have access, and if not, could it be a bad sign. I’m not able and still just get the “we have all your materials” message when I check status…

I love that we inherited a decisions post from years ago. anyway I’m freaking a bit. less than a week until decisions… but at the same time I’m feeling very zen about it. I was freaking out much worse over ED.
