Have you applied to ONR SEAP program for 2010?

Have you heard anything yet?

Did you get a position in 2009?

Are former SEAP participants more likely to get a spot the next year?

Thanks.

bumping this one up. Anyone?

Yes, I applied and got asked for an interview.

^ dang already???
how did they contact you?

armusic77 -

What area of the US are you located?
where did the interview happen?
Have you heard whether you got in or not?

I live in maryland.

A engineer in the naval surface warfare center contacted me through email ( I think it was the surface warfare one), and asked for an interview. Its on feb 26th.

So yeah, its not sure ill get in. I suppose he has a couple choices.

He also gave me some stuff to read up on about the electric railgun I’ll be working on. (sounds pretty cool lol)

And no, i didnt apply last year.

Very cool! keep us posted.

Yeah - a prof at USNA sent me an email and told me about his project.
He said I’ll be notified of my ‘official’ acceptance, and once I get that I’ll get to meet the people already working on the project.

Very cool, where are you located Lebredo? which labs did you list as your choices?

I’m near Annapolis Maryland - I applied to USNA only.

I called today to check on the status of SEAP and the woman that answered said that final decisions would be out this week via email.

Well, I didnt get in (sigh).

The guy said that I was the second choice, so if someone decides to not do it, i could get in.

(The engineer that took my app as a hopeful was only allowed one person, but he might be allowed 2 depending on if people decide not to.)

Quite an exciting day! I received the email of acceptance today at around 5:40. However, the provided link gives a blank page. Ill contact them tomorrow about that.

Others accepted?

Any one else send in their documents to the lab of their choice?

What did the email say ? What are the next steps for you?
Will we get an email if we were not accepted?

Armusic - Sorry about your not so great news :'(

still waiting here in VA…

I guess I didn’t get in. (no email)
sigh were you guys junior/sophs/seniors?

AstroPhy - where are you located? Which lab will you be working in?

The subject in the email was " You’ve been offered a fellowship by SEAP " Then: “Congratulations! You have been selected as an apprentice for the 2010 Office of Naval Research (ONR) Science and Engineering Apprentice Program (SEAP).” A link was there and you need to send in a parental form, a document of proof of citizenship, and a signed agreement to terms and conditions.

I applied to the USNO Flagstaff Station lab. I sent all of the required stuff plus a resume, and a disk of previous presentations and science fair projects directly to the lab.

I am located in ABQ, NM. Sophomore.

The link was fine - they just wrote it wrong.
Instead of 2010-seap.asee.org, it should have just been ‘seap.asee.org’…

I am officially accepted into seap!!!
