Hola!

Anyone have tips for acing the diagolo? I can never come up with the appropriate phrases on the spot.

PM me if you want a list of good phrases to interject during the essay/emails.

Post exam question for form O: did anyone else have the error in the simulated conversation where there was no beep?

@3mpathy i did not…

i thought that the reading, writing, and speaking parts werent too bad, but the listening was pretty hard for me. i also only wrote 1 page for the email and 2 for the essay… is this bad?

I though everything was all fairly easy, except I wish I had had more practice doing the cultural comparison. As for the email and essay, I wrote about the same amount.

Shoot, the curve this year is going to be brutal. Everybody did really well on multiple choice. I think for most people it’s going to come down to the FRQs.

I think I did pretty well. Glad that I didn’t even take our horrendously useless AP spanish class

last listening part of 1b was hard af. literally every other aspect of the exam was a joke. i missed like 5 most in 1a i think.

literally thought it was easy. for the email response, i wrote the entire page plus like 1/4 on the back, and the long essay i wrote like 3 pages.

probably missed only like 6 on MC, max 10. went a little off path on the presentation but at worst a 4 on that. all in all, I’m confident in a 5.

for those worrying about the curve, my teacher gave me the info from the official practice test. A 5 is anywhere from 150 points to 112, so it’s pretty generous.

@Remembrance
Wait, from a practice test for the redesigned exam?
Keep in mind, the old exam only played each audio recording once, and had a very difficult paragraph completion section. Also there was 5 options instead of 4. I’d say a 90% on the MCQ and straight 4’s may be a 5 though.

I’m nervous that they will curve it less than they did on the practice test so that it is not as lenient…

@Shutterstock

yes, the new exam format. our teacher got it for us. 112 out of 150 for a 5.

The reading comp was pretty straightforward, and I thought the listening was pretty straightforward as well, except for the last one…ugh, at that point, I was done. My email was a page and my essay was 2.5; just like the ones I did in class. I forgot a despedido at the end of my conversation because I ran out of time (typical), but I thought the whole test wasn’t that bad. I’m sure the curve will be tough, but…I just want a 4/5, and I think I’ll be fine. I will say that the blender sound made me break into hysterical laughter though…

for those that care, the MC without audio are weighted at 1.25 points each, while the ones with audio are weighted at 1.07 points each

Thought the entire exam was very easy. Didn’t feel burned out or exhausted at all, but then again my teacher prepared us really well, and we did Ap Prep from the very first month.

Reading & Listening: Really straightforward, some of the sound effects were a little too much and it was hard to suppress laughs.
Speaking: I either did okay to excellent depending on whose grading me. I did answer the task, I don’t know if I did it with quality.
Writing: I think I aced these. 1-1/2 pages for the email. 4 pages for the essay (and I still had so much more to say.) I’m so happy with the ease of the exam.

I felt like the test was VERY easy. Seemed like it was way easier than any of the practice tests I took. The listening was very easy, and I only struggled on the reading about the aunt who died or whatever.

And I took the official, new practice exam too this year and thought that it was way harder than the real test a few days ago.

Does it matter if I didn’t make a conclusion at the end of my cultural comparison recording? I got to three points for each culture and had a longish intro about the sports but I ran out of time before I could make an in conclusion statement. How much do you think that will set me back?

And for those of you who were talking about it, I wrote 1.5 pages for the email and almost 3 for the essay. I was on my third but finished near the bottom.
