***Official 2015 June SAT (US Only) THREAD***

@ptkid16 no it doesn’t

Devastated by this “solution”… 8 and 9 were my best sections. Does anyone think there’s chance of a retake still? I was headed for a great score and now my dreams have been crushed :confused:

Okay thanks @16elir

I doubt there would be a retake option. Less than 10% of the people would know about it (no one probably knows what is happening right now) They wouldn’t be able to organize rooms in testing centers across the country super fast, also a ton of people can’t make it over summer

OH NVM did everyone just get an email from collegeboard about it

yup I got the email.

What did the email pertain to?

What did the email say?

"Following each test administration, we go to great lengths to ensure we are able to deliver reliable test scores. After a comprehensive review and statistical analysis, the College Board and ETS determined that the affected sections will not be scored and we will still be able to provide reliable scores for all students who took the SAT on June 6. "

Dear Test Taker:

We are writing to let you know that your SAT scores from the June 6th SAT Administration will be delivered within the usual timeframe.
As additional background: on Saturday, June 6, we discovered a printing error in the standard test books that we provided to students taking the SAT that day in the United States.
On behalf of Educational Testing Service (ETS) and our partner the College Board, we apologize for this error.
Following each test administration, we go to great lengths to ensure we are able to deliver reliable test scores. After a comprehensive review and statistical analysis, the College Board and ETS determined that the affected sections will not be scored and we will still be able to provide reliable scores for all students who took the SAT on June 6.
To accommodate the wide range of incidents that can impact a testing experience, the SAT is designed to collect enough information to provide valid and reliable scores even with an additional unscored section.
We take our responsibility to students very seriously, and we regret any confusion you may have experienced. For more information, including Frequently Asked Questions, please visit www.collegeboard.org/june-6-sat.
Sincerely,
Test Administration Services

Pretty much what they already posted on their website.

If the curve for math and CR ends up being similar to that of the psat do you guys think its going to be more harsh or lenient?

" We have deliberately constructed both the Reading and the Math Tests to include three equal sections with roughly the same level of difficulty. If one of the three sections is jeopardized, the correlation among sections is sufficient to be able to deliver reliable scores. "

noooo, the math curve will be horrible for me because I know I missed at least 2 grid in questions

In the Jane Austen passage, what did you guys put for the silences in her notes or something…
There were choices like she didn’t want to reveal stuff about herself and family didn’t want to show their motives or something

Can some one please tell us which critical reading section was in sections 8 or 9. I can’t seem to remember which one it was. Was it the Easter Island one?

Does anyone also remember what math section was in sections 8 or 9? Like do you guys remember a particular problem from it that could help jog my memory.

For those who had the timing print error in the reading section: Do you remember what type of questions they were? Was there a double passage comparison? Were the questions harder than the other reading sections?

Also, are they taking out both sections or just the 1 misprinted section for individuals?

It was the double passage comparision; forgot what it was about though. And from what collegeboard is stating, it’s both “affected sections will not be scored”

@successonsuccess
8/9 CR had Easter Islands double passage and enamored/zeal sentence completion.
8/9 Math had the surface area of the pyramid.

Not to jinx it, but thanks to the omitted math section, I MAY receive an 800. Parabola question caught me off guard. In a way, I’m kind of happy. However, this may also be detrimental to my scores as I’m not 100% sure I got all the previous questions correct. Please love me SAT math gods

8/9 CR was the Easter Islands passage? YES!! Hopefully I’ll pull off a 770+, then.

I left it as it is
