***Official 2015 June SAT (US Only) THREAD***

Should I just not bother to apply to Ivies with only one SAT subject test?

Why not take more?

I already did poorly on my first SAT subject test. I have studied quite a bit too. I’m pretty sure it’s an instant rejection if anyone applies to schools like CMU with only one subject test.

@anBoa122 I’m pretty sure if you do the ACTs with writing the subject test requirement is waived at most schools. That might be easier for you, idk.

im doing 4 subject tests. chem physics ushistory math 2. did math and chem already got 800 and 780

@y0l0lsen Nice! where do u want to go?

EDIT: Nevermind!! I saw your post a little bit above.

To those of you who still lurk this thread, heres some CR ones I would like to know what everyone put for…
simile/hyperbole or metaphor/melodrama
famillial trait or personal quirk
falsely dramatic or tactfully incredulous

i put the former on all of these

@SaburosFather i also put the former

@anBoa122 colleges rarely care if u took the sat 2s twice

I put the former on all as well. Two are still up for debate, but “familial trait” was pretty agreed upon

I put simile and hyperbole, and falsely dramatic, and I stand by those answers.

However, I also put familial trait, but people in this thread previously made a great argument for personal quirk. Now I believe I answered incorrectly and the actual answer is personal quirk.

Their reasoning was that in the passage, the narrator was predicting what would happen. That is, at that point, she had not yet met her family. So she does not know, and we do not know, if her family members actually share her “rancorous laughter.” She’s envisioning her family members possessing rancorous laughter because SHE herself possesses it. So we know it’s a personal trait, or, in the words used, “personal quirk.”
^Credit to whoever came up with this argument, it’s too many pages back for me to check lol

According to my phone call on Friday June 12 (I called 3 different times and got 3 different reps on the phone!)
–They are only omitting EITHER section 8 or 9 depending on where the misprint occurred in the student booklet.
– All 3 also confirmed and I quote " they will be scoring the experimental section that is given on each test and NEVER scored". I laughed when they said this --you are telling me it is never scored but on this test it will be and you are still telling me this is a standardized test???

The most appalling part of this is when you call the Customer Service number the first recording says “if you are calling about the June 6 test, please go to our website and read the alert for the latest info” However the information on the website DOES NOT state the same information that the reps on the phone are giving!!!

They could not tell me how they could possibly be using an experimental writing ( correctly labeled 25 min section on my childs test) in place of reading or math. They also could not tell me how they were adjusting the scoring.

They also say they are offering no refunds or credits for October test, however as has been mentioned on this forum,
the squeaky wheel gets the oil, especially if you put it in writing.

I suggest everyone call and confirm this information for yourself. A lot of people on here are saying they are being transparent and that is far from the truth.

that’s impossible to use LOL everyone has different experimentals also some people didn’t have cr/math experimentals they had writing experimentals lmao

It really is a LOL situation when you call because the reps read you the same prompt about having enough statistical blah blah blah to produce valid scores blah blah blah. How can writing be used for math? There is certainly no statistical info for that!!!

Yeah, the reps clearly have no idea what they’re talking about as everything they said contradicts the official Collegeboard statement.

no way that theyre scoring the experimental

im wondering if i shouldve just taken the ACT…its easier to get a higher score and you dont have to send in sat 2s

the sat was headed for its downfall anyway. i like it the way it is now but once the redesigned one comes out, people will flock to the act.

lol i need a good sat score to compensate for my low gpa lol

At this point I am just concerned about how colleges would view the scores for this SAT. They could potentially just dismiss it.
