So after 6 months of preparation my scores went down.
Math: 700–>680
Cr: 700–>670
Writing: 710 (10E)–> 730 (11E)
I must say, I give PrepScholar A LOT of credit. After 2 weeks of prep, (about 16.5 hours) my score increased 230 points.
1540 --> 1770! Kind of pleased! Hoping for another 230 point increase. xD
2070- meh I wanted to do better but it was my first time so whatever
630 CR- I thought I did waaaay better, looking at this thread
690 M- haha I’m lucky that I got this- guess most of my mistakes were in 9/10?
750 W- 9 essay and 75 MC- pretty decent curve, though I really wanted 10+
I didn’t do any prep so guess what I’m gonna do this summer!?!?!
2340!!! ((SUPERSCORE TO 2360))
760M
780 CR
800 W
Math curve: I got 4 more questions right this time but only up 50 points to a 730
Do colleges really only care about superscore? I now am 1600/2350 for superscore, but I went from 750 in writing to a 680 :O…
@ErenYeager I’m curious… how do you know how many questions you got right? I thought that report wasn’t out until June 30th?
@ErenYeager It appears -2 was a 730 for math
I got 800 math and 780 writing, but my reading was rough … 640. Do you guys think I should retake and superscore with a reading at least 700?
I don’t think -2 math was 730. I got a 710 and I know I missed at least 2 and I didn’t skip any.
I despised the essay prompt. I had to make up some BS for my second example and managed to get by with an 8 on it.
Yeah I would if I were you @Em1509 Writing is not seen as as important as reading is, and a lot of colleges don’t even look at it, so even though it’s a good score you’d be in a much stronger place with a higher reading score
@lolalollipop
It had to have been. People were also getting 760. Which is definitely a -1
@lolalollipop I was thinking the same thing! I knew my reading score wouldn’t be stellar, but I wish it would have just been a 700 so I could have been done with the SAT forever! :))
800 CR
690 Math
Curious about how many missed that is on Math? Really need a subject test in Oct, so not sure about retake. Would a good Math subject test make up for SAT Math score (particularly since so few missed lowers scores here)?
@Chrysanthemum14 There’s no way that it would be -0 800 -1 760 -2 730 -4 710
@lolalollipop And why not? (btw I assume you mean -3 for 710)
@Em1509 I feel your pain. I was in a similar boat when I took it the first time. It’s so frustrating to have a good writing score and an iffy reading score.
800 math, 720 writing, 590 reading!
Heres what I think about SAT scores: A substantial amount depends on luck. My highest writing is an 800 (along with math), but I have never gotten 750+ on writing and math (second highest was 720 for both sections, and I took the SATs 4 times). I even got in the high 600s on both sections before. I think that my true math and writing skills are closer to low~mid 700s. Honestly, I probably got one or two questions wrong on the last math section but then I just got extremely lucky, thus showing that SAT scores are based on luck as well as other factors. Dont feel too bad or discouraged, and just practice practice practice. Good luck
@Chrysanthemum14 No I meant -4 because I didn’t skip any. If you miss 3 without skipping you get knocked the extra point.
