@jiyon1383 the wording of the press release sounds very definite… “After a comprehensive review and statistical analysis, the College Board and ETS have determined that the affected sections will not be scored, and that we will still be able to provide reliable scores for all students who took the SAT on June 6.” Sounds like statistical analysis has already been performed… maybe not a total analysis, but something.
I don’t think they would say “we regret the confusion some students experienced” if that confusion was ongoing. The language suggests that their decision is final and that the confusion is over.
Did the person you spoke with on the phone actually use the words “interim decision” or did it just sound like that?
I am disappointed that Sections 8 and 9 were cancelled, but I would be extremely upset if they were to release another statement that alters their decision after I have finally gotten over my anxiety.
I’m honestly so pissed off at the CollegeBoard’s decision. I hope they offer a retake or grade our sections 8/9 and then determine what they are going to do.
What were sections 8 and 9? Bc I’m almost 100% sure my section 9 had the eschew question, Austen passages, history books and the lady meeting her family. I think I had Easter island in section 5. And then 8 was math.
@jiyon1383 Canceling the June test is definitely not the fairest way to handle this. My kid’s room followed the 20 minute rule. Why should those kids have to take more time of their busy schedules to retake a test that they’ve spent weeks prepping for?
Why isn’t collegeboard grading 8/9 sections? We coded for which book we were using in the bubbles, so shouldn’t that tell them which section not to grade? It’s not like they have to call schools or anything. 8/9 sections is more fair than 7/9 sections in my opinion.
@Kazoo98 why? did some books say 25 for both? if so, then they should grade 7/9 for those people. but it should be 8/9 for people who just had one sections. Is there a reason they aren’t doing that?
So with 2 sections not being counted would that make the math curve harsher??? please tell me that’s not true I already know I got one of the grid-ins wrong…
