Whoa whoa. Why did you walk for a mile and a half?
=/

And yeah, I’m pretty good with distinguishing between tourists and natives. ;]

So that I could save $4.50 a day? I’d take the bus occasionally, but it was only a 25ish minute walk to the lab. The train tickets alone cost me an arm and two legs.

OMG, one day I got an e-mail from my mentor (around 6 pm) saying that I had to execute a specific protocol, otherwise I would have to wait another few days because I would have to restart the protocol that preceded it. WELL, it was a Sunday, so I rush to the train station to make a 6:09 train, get to Penn around 6:45, RUN my bus-route (in flats that were breaking with each pounding step), get to the lab building by 7:15. Now, I didn’t have an ID card at this point, so I had to wait for someone to open the lab doors for me, which took about 15 minutes. My actual protocol took all of 5 minutes. FIVE minutes. By the time I got home, it was 9 something. Worst commute EVER.

Ohhh!! I didn’t know that you meant that you did that every day.

That’s pretty gay, actually.

:(

Hahaha.

Yeah, man. I spent 60+ hours a week with antisocial scientists who seemed to hate me. SEVEN days a week. That was my summer: pipettes, test tubes, and potent bacteria. How jealous of my life are you?

I’m extremely jealous of all your friends for seeing you on a daily basis.
:(

I SPENT MY SUMMER AT DEUTSCHE BANK WITH THE MOST KICK ASS INTERNS EVER!!
<3 DB.
However…the coworkers, ehhh, I could do without them. I SWEAR. They were so mean to me. They kept giving me the stank eye. I think they were scared that I was going to take their job or something. LOL I remember we used to have a massive email chain with the corporate emails, us interns and me. sigh

SPEAKING OF WHICH! One of those interns got into Amherst but went to Pomona instead. He was a cutie. LOL

EDIT: ***. 60 hours a week is against child labor laws. LOL

EDIT # 2 :Wooowww, CC censors that?! I meant to say “Vat ze fook”

Deutsche Bank?? What are you talking about?!

My fellow lab members hated me. T’was saddening, spending 60+ hours a week silent. :(

Too bad he didn’t go to Amherst…he would’ve been some nice eye candy whilst on campus. ;)

Hahahaha. Funny how they censor THAT and not “Ass,” huh?

Haha. What do you mean, what am I talking about? You’ve never heard of Deutsche Bank?!
:(

That’s because scientists are socially awkward. … most of them, any how.

There’s TONS of cuties at Amherst. I know a lax player (sophomore). He’s …drools HAHA

Sent out my Amherst app a few hours ago… just finished my college app frenzy in general XD. Yes, I am the epitome of last minute. Now, a little calm before the storm. I still have a couple to submit tomorrow.

^I’m considering if I should apply to NYU now. (40 minutes to their deadline)

Talk about last minute.

Srrinath, I heard NYU has an obnoxiously long app. Good luck with allll that!

I was going to do NYU, but then I heard about the haiku or poem or whatever they make you write. I went with BU instead.

90 days. 10char

Hey everyone.
I’m an international applicant from Bosnia.
Prospective psych major.
<3 Amherst

Ooooh yeah always lovely to have people who <3 Amherst.

BOSNIA! THAT’S CLOSE TO RUSSIA! OOOOOH.

Soooo:

1.) Empire State. I went there. It’s overrated. So is the Eiffel tower. And I’ve been in a tourist in NYC and I never had a fanny-pack. Haha, but I did have one of those huge I <3New York t-shirts and an unusually large grin on my face. Also, another tourist stopped me to ask me for directions. I was like, “Dude, do you think I’m being ironic with this t-shirt?”

2.) I spent my summer reading, working in a bookstore, going on CC and writing. Oh, and I went to Hong Kong somewhere in the middle of that. Be very jealous.

3.) Wish I’d applied to NYU.

4.) I LOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOVE LOOOOOOOOOOOOOVE DC AND MM.

5.) WHAT? WE NEED TO KICK SWAT’S ASS!!! AND WILLIAMS’.

I feel so loved!!

QUASI: I LOVEEEEEE and MISSED YOU. DON’T LEAVE ME AGAIN.

2) Eh, the “I <3 NY” can easily be substituted for the fanny-pack, as those are typically reserved for the older group of tourists. If you actually said that, then you justm ade my life.

3) Why? Amherst wasn’t good enough?

4) See un-numbered proclamation of my love for you.

5) Like I said before. First Williams, then Swat, then the WORLD.

Questions:

1) I mailed off my app. dec. 30 (which would be postmarked dec.30). Do they want the stuff by the 1st or postmarked by the 1st? I read somewhere they wanted the stuff by the 1st.

2) Has there been an increase in the number of RD applicants?

3) 2 more months till we find out! =]

woo - I’m back. After many edits, etc. I finally sent sent everything out.

er… hi again. I believe I posted about 60 pages ago. In any case, this thread has surely taken off. just wondering, is amherst the first-choice college for the majority of ppl here?

Hello feathers!

Amherst shares my top choice spot with a couple of other schools, yes. What about you? I’m too lazy to backtrack through the thread, haha.
