I expected to get atleast a 4 but since the percentages are soo low this year ugh I hate the new curriculum

Anyone get a 5? If so how many hours did you prepare??

I got a 3 and I am not complaining Lmaoo this class was hard hard hard to the fullest

I got a five. I spent about an hour a day the month before the test preparing, and then the weekend before I prepared almost the full weekend. It wasn’t needed though, as I was preparing facts to know, something not really needed on the test.

Got a 5! Pleased with the results :)

Got a 5…my Dad suggested I do study groups and test prep with two other smart guys from my class…we all got 5’s…dad’s Happy and so are we…we’ll try this again for the 4 AP’s we’ll be taking next year…

Under score distribution it says it will be available in the Fall? Where is everyone seeing their score distribution?

AP Biology scores, 2013: 5: 5.4%. 4: 21.4%. 3: 36.3%. 2: 29.5%. 1: 7.4%. These may shift slightly as late exams are scored.

from an AP guy at College Board’s twitter account. https://twitter.com/AP_Trevor

back on June 25

Took me a while to find too, some of the splits are much more recent.

(and my son was told by teachers that 60% right or more would be a 5 - if that is the case, what a terrible job adapting to the new exam!)

" Best in my class and I get a 3… My teacher is going to be so ****ed. "

I got a C, barely, for the whole year of AP Bio including a D for one quarter, and got a 5, back when.

Test taking is my forte, and it is not for others. Real life is not test taking, it is more like taking classes. Very very few jobs require such tight time scales as standardized tests do.

I got a 4. No one at my school has ever gotten a 5, so I really wanted one! I read the entire Barron’s book, and I think I was really close to a 5. I’m ok with a 4 though :)

I got a 5. Honestly, I have no idea how, I thought I got a 2. I know my biology inside and out, but that exam did not test biology in the slightest bit. I even stopped my scores from being sent to colleges because I felt that it was absolutely unfair. The multiple choice was impossible and the FRQ’s were completely random.

Got a 5!

happy dance

5 here. To all future test-takers, the test is now based on logic and reasoning mixed in with basic bio concepts. No more mass memorizing (imo I would’ve gotten a 4 with the old bio test, simply b/c I don’t know a lot of facts).

I GOT A 5. Even as a freshmen doing just two weeks of self study. I did take a Honor Bio course though. :D

got a 5/800. hoping to score more 5/800s

freshmen only taking regular biology btw

I get my score in a few hours and I’m not going to lie, I’m actually pretty scared, I almost feel sick Did you guys do better or worse than you thought you would do?

Terrified too…I thought I did well but now I’m not sure looking at the 5% of 5s…

^Yea, I was expecting there to be more 5s. I saw the stats on the results and they weren’t much comfort. About 31% of the people who took the test got 0 grid-ins correct and there were quite a few FRQs where about half (give or take 5-10%) of the people who took the test got 0 points.

If passing this exam didn’t get me out of one of my college prereqs, then I wouldn’t be so scared.

I’m just going to try to calm down over the next 4.5 hours, lol. Anyway, good luck!

last year, when 20% of people scored a 5 on the exam, only 2 out of the 28 people in my school’s AP bio class scored a 5, and one scored a 4. The rest of the people scored 1s or 2s. As you can see, my teacher is pretty terrible.

This year though, I got a 5 (no thanks to my teacher though…)!!! My teacher’s gonna be ecstatic.
