**OFFICIAL** AP Chemistry 2014 Thread

Does anyone know if this exam was harder than last years?

wait does that mean that if you got >50/60 on MC and like half points on the frq then you’re set for a 5? seems a bit too lenient, but the chem curve has always been pretty lenient so idk

@Wskimo‌ that’s way too low. I wish though… Well then again you never know. I’m just thinking worst case scenario.

My teacher said that the cutoff was going to be around 70%, but I’m not sure how it was like for bio…does anyone know?

@dopecake Basically

MC was relatively okay, probably got around mid 70%. Frq brought me down to maybe around a 4 or if im lucky low 5

Has anyone ever heard of somebody getting >90% on the multiple choice and not getting a 5?

who is “kitty” on the google doc?

@acttest my teacher said that for the old format if you got > 60/75 then you’d have to get brain damage during the frq to not get a 5 but i’m pretty sure they’re gonna screw it up so that less people get 5s than ever before like they did to bio

@dopecake @acttest I’m expect 5%-8% of people who took it to get a 5.

In reference to the T-shaped trigonal planar debate
<a href=“T-shaped - Chemistry LibreTexts”>http://chemwiki.ucdavis.edu/Inorganic_Chemistry/Molecular_Geometry/T-shaped</a> Example: ClF3 LOL

curve last year for bio: <a href=“AP Biology Exam Data 2013 – Mr. Chinn's Site”>http://galileoweb.org/chinnc/ap-biology-08-09/ap-biology-exam-data-2013/</a>
78% right to get a five…

so im not going to discuss anything specific. But I would like to say i got pulverized on the short answer.

awh poop. I’m lucky to get a 3 now…

OFFICIAL FRQS PLEASE COME OUT SOON

This was my first AP exam, and before I started I was pretty excited, but now I hate the college board
I mean, the MC was easy, but for the FRQs I simply needed more time. I did the long ones, but I spent so much time on them that I had like 10 minutes to do the short ones. I wasn’t even able to do #6, and I might not have gotten full credit for the other ones.
Where do you think the cutoff will be? If it’s like 65% for a 5…I might have some hope

So on the free response section the instructions were supposedly to put your ap student number on the top of each page…I was so consumed in doing the problems that I totally forgot to do that…does this mean I’ll get a zero or something on the test?? Even though I put my name and number on the front cover??

LOL WHAT ARE YOU SERIOUS WHO ACTUALLY DID THAT^

wait what??? we were supposed to do that??? my proctor never said that!!! :open_mouth: oh crap

@jaclynalamba @meaa7130 @dopecake I believe you only had to write your student number if you needed extra paper (you’d write it on the paper)…

EG: If you write a lot and need more space, you can get more paper, so long as you include your AP # on each sheet (they don’t want your name for fairness purposes)

I highly doubt they’d have you fill out the details on the book if you then needed to write your ID on each page… It’d waste too much time.
