Wow, kupolu- congrats on all your amazing options!

I remember you had some info about Stanford Biosciences from your PI a while ago- do you have any word for all of us (see above) who are waiting to hear?

I don’t have any additional info about when the decisions will be sent out, sorry. I just know that the various departments met on Monday to discuss their list of applicants and to coordinate interviews if an applicant applied to more than one program.

Hopefully you guys hear back soon!

Hi all, I just noticed that not very many people have applied to Brown MCB. Is there anything about their program that I need to know, like if they take ages to let their grad students graduate? Or if the attrition rate is high?

Interview from Stanford Genetics by email today! Yay! I specified Neuroscience as my primary choice and Genetics as my secondary choice.

Invite from UW Seattle Biochemistry by email today.

So does Stanford Biosciences do admissions by Home Program? I’ve seen a lot of people getting notices from them for, e.g. Neurobiology, Biology, CSB, etc. Does this mean that other Home Programs haven’t finished admissions yet?

Also, I was curious - are certain Home Programs more competitive than others, or do they generally accept the same % of applicants across the entire program?

somebody123:

I heard from a faculty member I spoke with that each home program admits only about 10 new students a year. In addition, I heard that admission to Neuroscience is fierce as people from all sorts of disciplines apply.

Anyone hear from UCSF Neuroscience? I think I’m going to have to call them in an attempt to end all this frantic admissions checking…

update: no answer…

Interview from Stanford Micro and Immuno by phone today! Good luck to everyone else who hasn’t heard yet!

This forum has been so helpful. Guess it’s time to post:

Has anyone heard back from HMS for Immunology? I know some of you have gotten invites from HMS BBS, was wondering if Immunology sent out any yet, and if there are waves or not.
