MCTitans, my interview is the weekend of Feb 20. Thanks for the info on MIT!

I suppose you could kind of use the notification process as a guide to determine how smoothly the administrative side runs at these schools.

From what I can tell, Stanford is nothing but a disaster (never answers phone calls, doesn’t reply to emails, equivocates on whether they have notified candidates or not, and incredible tardiness).

I am a current Duke student in a different department. I am not involved with admissions for any of the programs, and I am not sure about the interview dates for neuro. I would not worry too much yet about not hearing from them. The neurobio department at Duke is pretty small, so they get pretty overloaded with the med school neuro class in January. I would not be suprised if they are in the earlier stages of review now.

In regards to your stats question, they post all of the stats from prior years on the grad school website: [The Graduate School, Duke University - Department List by Academic Division](http://www.gradschool.duke.edu/departments_and_programs/department_list_by_academic_division.html)

Here are the stats for neuro the past two years: 650+V, 770+Q, 3.7GPA. Like many of my classmates, I am well below the average in some categories, so that is not a deal breaker.

If anyone interviewing at Duke has questions about programs/the school, feel free to pm me. I will probably see a few of you at interviews.

Duke has pretty good stats.
It’s very nice of them to actually publish numbers… it seems to be a rarity for neuro programs.

Anyone heard from Harvard Biophysics? Checked grad cafe, but nothing so far…
thanks!

Rejection from UCSD neuro

Hi all,

I received invitations for interviews from UT Health Science Center-Houston and Baylor College of Medicine. If anyone has already interviewed at these schools, do you mind giving me an idea of what it is like, what to expect, tips, etc? Thanks!

Just received and email from Rutgers/UMDNJ on an interview offer for their graduate program in Molecular Biosciences on Feb. 27th. This is my lowest ranked school on my list (still top 50) and I am a current undergrad at Rutgers, so everything is falling into place! I figured I would be fine for an interview, but I’m just glad I heard from someone else other than UPenn for the time being!

So you would actually consider going to the same school for grad?

It depends on where else I ultimately get accepted (which, btw, is NOT at Rutgers yet; remember, just an interview - though I should still have no problem getting official acceptance).

The quick answer is probably not, but you never know.

Hey all,

So pretty much the only program I am waiting to hear back from now is Mt. Sinai. Have any US based people heard from them yet? I realize they took applications until just a couple week ago, so I am not surprised to have not heard anything yet, but has anyone at all?

Also, someone was asking about Boston University neuro, got an interview e-mail from them 2 days ago. So it appears they are also still sending out invites.

brainlab-
I saw a neurobio recruit today, so Duke neurobio has already sent out invites. I am not sure whether they are still interviewing/sending invites. Good luck with your applications.

DrugsRFun, I recieved an interview invitation from Mt. Sinai on Jan 7, for Feb 2/3. My application was complete probably around Dec 15th-ish.

My invitation from Mt Sinai was received on Jan 16, for Feb 9/10. My application was complete in late Nov. I am international.

Thanks for the quick responce, I got my app in just after new years. Congrats on the interviews! Good to hear they are pretty prompt in getting back to applicants.

Hi! I just got an interview invitation from Cornell Microbiology. It will be held at the last weekend of February. Could someone share your experience for such interviews?

What’s the schedule gonna be like for the two days? What should I wear: business casual, or jeans? Any tips, do’s, and don’ts?

Thanks for sharing!

Hi Sptaylor, when did you get the interview invitation from UCLA ACCESS? Do you know if they are still sending out invitations? I called them today and was told I have not been denied, but I haven’t been invited, either.

Has anyone heard from UCSD BMS??

Has anyone heard from UC-Davis Microbiology?

fignuts-

No i haven’t and its’ driving me crazy. I wanna go for an interview in california dammit!
