Molecule77, I heard back from UC-Davis on Jan 14. Their interview weekend is coming next week. I don’t know how many weekends they have.

Just accepted to Tufts!!! (the Graduate School of Arts & Sciences)

Just heard from UC Berkeley MCB by email (after a painful 3 days) - accepted!

got a phone call and a few emails last night about the admittance for berkeley MCB. I know how you felt chibichan

Just get accepted by Duke Neurobiology~

and shared some feelings of the telephone interview in my own blog

Recruitment weekend is more for you to see if you like it there. You meet the professors, see the labs, and they take you to fun places. I’m going to a different weekend, but BU is an awesome place. Try to get a feel for who you want to do your lab rotations with while you’re there.

PS. Anyone have any idea when Harvard or MIT is supposed to move it and send out their notifications?

MIT sent invitations ages ago, if you haven’t received anything you can safely assume you have been rejected. i don’t really understand why they don’t just send out rejection letters and instead leave people hanging like this, because if you phone the admissions office they will tell you this same thing.

Hey all, if anyone accepted an offer to Penn Neuroscience Grad Group, PM me. I’m setting up a facebook group and I’ll send an invite.

is princeton molbio weeding out lots of interviewees? or is it just a normality check up? please share your experience and knowledge :)

I have the same question as noface. I applied to Princeton Mol. Bio and it says right on their site that their last interview weekend is Feb. 27th. That’s getting really close to when we could hear, for those of us who haven’t yet.

Of course, I’m at Rutgers right now, so Princeton is an easy 20 minutes away. But still, I’d like to know so I don’t schedule anything fun during that weekend!

For those who’ve heard, when did you. Also, if you have heard, have you heard for Feb. 27th weekend?

titans,

princeton mol bio is done sending invitations. i think no face wanted to know what the rate of acceptance is of those interviewed. i actually would be interested to know as well, but my guess is that it’s a pretty high percentage - and as you said - might just be a ‘normality check’. you’ll be able to tell immediately after the interviews by whether the interviews ‘grilled’ you or not. if they are cool with talking about things other than science then it is most likely a normality check and you should feel confident. just my two cents.

I’m good friends with a couple of the Princeton Grad students there now.The Princeton interview is more of a normality check then anything else. I think around 80-90% of those who interview get accepted.

Anyone else going to the Feb. 27 interview?

Devine 09 - damn, oh well. Got into Penn already, so not like I’m that bummed, Penn is top 10 program anyways.

And also, I agree with the “normality” aspect. It seems, at least at Penn, that the interview was more about making sure your are social and able to work in a setting with many people in a lab. They know you can do science and can get good grades, they want to see how you interact with people.

Just got back from U Washington MCB interview. Absolutely LOVED it and it’s my first choice so far… it will be hard to top I think. I really really hope I get accepted… does anyone know how long it takes them to make their decisions?

rejection from rockefeller 2 days back by snail mail…

For those who interviewed at UC Irvine or Johns Hopkins for Neuroscience, have you heard back yet? I saw an acceptance for Irvine INP posted on thegradcafe.com and am wondering if they sent out all their acceptances at once.

Thanks!

In response to my previous post, I actually received an acceptance phone call from UC Irvine this afternoon. First acceptance and very relieved! Good luck to everyone during this painful waiting process!

On a Sunday? No kidding?

Anyone here go to the February 5-6 UIowa Biosciences interview? Hear anything back yet?

็Hi there,
Does anyone could tell me about UCLA’s ACCESS acceptance percentage?
I’m going to fly from Thailand to visit the school in March, but I couldn’t find any posts about the interview environment. Is it very serious? Are there other activities? I’ve been quite worried coz I’m an international applicant, and still haven’t received the schedule yet.

One more thing…for someone involved in ACCESS’s interview before, where did you stay at? Which hotel?

Thank you very much
