@Neuro_007: Sent PM

MCTitans, did you get to speak with professors you wanted to talk to, or did they assign people to you?

UTHSCSA IMGP acceptance today by phone. Also offered a $5000 scholarship! Interviewed 2/5-2/7.

I came back from Berkeley interview this morning and got the acceptance by email just now. Now I’m totally confused. So far:

Accepted: Sloan-Kettering, Rockefeller, Yale, Berkeley
Interviews: Stanford, MIT, UChicago
Declined: Weill Cornell, Columbia, NYU
Waiting: Harvard BBS
Rejected: None

Got a call from Berkeley – accepted to the MCB program!

fishy - I sent in a “top 4” list, and then 4 alternates, but I only got to speak with one of my requested professors. But that’s ok, because I ended up interviewing with the CAMB Chair and Developmental Biology subgroup Chair, so it all worked out! I found out a couple of days before, but even still you receive who you’re interviewing with when you arrive, so you should go on PubMed and read/skim one of their recent papers. Are you going to UPenn for the Feb. 26-28 weekend?

I am a new comer and this is my first post on an American forum.

I am an international applicant. I have received an telephone interview invitation from OSHU. Can anybody tell me some information about PMCB of OSHU just like whether it’s an excellent program? Or can anyone tell some information about its telephone interview. (I know the second question seems quite difficult for you natives.)

Thanks a lot!

belevitt i just PM’ed you.

also, i am STILL waiting for UCSD BMS and Hopkins MMI, and don’t know how much longer I can wait before I have a suspense/anxiety meltdown! =D

Any feedback on either of these locations, and whether or not no news = good news or bad news?

btw I love this forum.

Acceptance by phone for UCSF Tetrad!

Acceptance by phone as well to UCSF Tetrad!!

Hey everybody, this is my first post on this thread and it has been quite helpful. I am attending the BU recruitment weekend 2/22-2/23. I have applied to higher ranked schools and gotten accepted but BU is my first choice for PI and significant other’s job reasons. Could someone please tell me if recruitment weekends are better than interviews (I mean, are they just trying to weed out psychos or weiros that they can’t tell apart from the normals on paper or is it just like any interview where 60-ish% get accepted).

Mollie, did you go to BU recruitment the year you applied? Can you tell me more about it if you did?

I didn’t end up going to BU’s weekend – it conflicted with some of my other weekends, and I had already been accepted to schools I preferred over BU.

I’m still in HS, been reading up on graduate school stuff (was woefully unprepared for UG apps)…

seems sooooooooooooooooooooo much more complicated. Congrats to anyone who gets in at any school lol. Must take a lot of patience and commitment.

MCTitans - I applied to the Genetics and Gene Regulation.

Hi guys,

Has anyone heard from UCSD BMS?

Thanks,

Terry

I was invited for an interview for UCSD BMS about a month ago.
