I’m pretty certain that Harvard BBS is all done. This is from their website: “After reviewing the applications, if you are accepted you will be notified by the first week of February 2009 and will be given the opportunity to visit during one of our 2 recruitment weekends (February 12-15, 2009 or March 5-8, 2009).”

hi,
anyone heard from BU bioinformatics, BU biomedical engineering and NYU computational biology?

Hi guys,

Did anyone here from UCSD Biology? Do they stop sending out invitations?
After passing the pre-application process for international student, I haven’t heard anything from them…I hopefully think that I might be kept in the waiting list…but not so sure

They interview international students by phone, don’t they?

You did actually submit a proper application after passing through the pre-app right?

Sure!! I’ve done that already.

@n7el

I heard back positively from BU’s BME program about a week or so ago.

@bekah102

I just saw that this morning. I sort of figured it out after checking their acceptance weekend dates too. Ugh. My 1, 2, & 3 choices were shot down, which is kind of depressing (MIT, Harvard, JHU)… I was hoping that since I hadn’t heard back that there might be some chance, but it’s probable that I didn’t get in now. Sucks so bad… I didn’t do bad for myself with 4 acceptances, but it’s kind of lame that they were backups in the sense that I knew I would be accepted at all of them. I’m not too thrilled with the prospect of transferring, heh.

i’m also an international student and i got an interview at UCSD biomedical science in march. i don’t know if the processing times are around the same between that program and biology.

naene17: I believe UCSD biology is already done. They have completed two of their interview weekends and have a very small interview weekend in March for those who couldn’t make it to the other two weekends.

ymmit- i was at michigan on jan 29, for immuno and micro. i havent heard back yet! starting to worry a ltitle…

Re: Mt. Sinai (Sahel and roxannecellbio):

I had an interview there earlier this month and I am international as well. I think everyone had 4 interviews…they are nothing much to worry about and over before you know it, and of course you are interested in their work anyway. The profs I met with mostly talked about their work and some asked me to talk a bit about myself but that was it. Just relax and be yourself and good luck!

Have no idea how many they accept after interview. I am on the waiting list, but not sure how that works or how long I will hear a yes/no. Why are they are placing people on the waiting list but still sending out invitations for interviews…Does anyone have any ideas about this? I tried calling today but no answer :(

Roxanecellbio: I was impressed by UW. I would agree that MCB/Genome sciences are two of the most well funded programs. I don’t know about MCB, but Genome Sciences is currently hiring 2 more faculty when the rest of the university is downsizing. Goes to show you how well funded they are. And as well, definitely impressed by the Hutch. However, my view may be biased since I’m from Washington and currently live in Seattle.

i received rejection letter from Mt. Sinai one month ago, and it says that they received more than 300 applications for the 30 positions in the entering class

I attended the same interview at Mt Sinai last week. They notified me I am wait-listed as well. I have no idea how they work on the procedure. I just hate waiting :(

has anyone heard about the second interview date at nyu sackler?

Hi,
has anyone heard from Southwestern at Dallas (Basic Science) or Baylor? Have they finished interview weekends already?
Im international, didn’t hear from them, even phone interview offer :(

nelee…Thank you, Do you live in the US or outside? Anyway, good luck for your interview!! UCSD biomed is a great school

biosciprosp…Thank you for telling me…I live outside the US and don’t really know whether they invite everyone or just offer phone interviews for students living in other countries. At present what I could hope is that when some people say no to their admissions, they might call me instead…lol

Anyway, I’m going to the ACCESS interview in March, I wish it won’t grill me!!!

edel:
my classmates have received offers from SW at D and Baylor already (international)

@ lesstalkmorerock:

Apparently NYU Sackler is having 6 interview weekends. I attended the 4th (maybe 5th, I can’t remember which they said) interview period last week 2/12-2/13, so I’m not sure what weekend they may be on now

@Roxanecellbio

I’ll be there on the 16/17th of March. Are you also going then? Maybe I’ll see you there :)

@HTLV111

Thanx a lot for the info. Yea, it’s weird that they still send invitations since they already have people waiting…maybe it’s for a different program? I applied for the Mechanisms of Virus-Host Interactions training program… anyways good luck! hope it will work out for all of us in the end…

Hey neurogal, I think UCI INP sent out all acceptances already. They called me on 2/15 and said they had their admissions decision meeting on 2/13.

Has anyone heard back from Johns Hopkins Neuroscience after interviewing?
