I’m PLME and i thought i had a rejection coming my way. Brown doesnt accept applicants from my school that much and I was the only one who applied. I dont know how to feel about this deferral.

Thanks guys. I think they denied me because the 3 kids my school has sent to Brown have been kids with amazing credentials and were super super geniuses. I mean unbelievable geniuses. That probably made me look very inferior even coming from an extremely competitive private school. I don’t think I screwed anything up social network wise haha thanks for all of y’all’s input. @honeymaid thank you for being honest in your commentary too! I’m not trying to sound arrogant or cocky but I thought my app was quite appealing because I did do a wide variety of truly interesting things! Just my gpa didn’t compare because our school really kills us and the only other kid applying from my school was cum laude so comparing him to me gpa wise kicked me out. Everything happens for a reason and I guess Brown just isn’t the place for me

I’m not sure if that last part is true. I don’t mean to sound like a jerk, but I had a 4.0 UW (4.4 W) at a really competitive prep school with APs & honors, a 34 on the ACT, and academic awards (plus lots of extra-curriculars, volunteer activites, and leadership) and I was deferred and I am pretty sure it had to do with my essays not having enough impact
