General Comments:
In the beginning, I was drawn to Brown only because of PLME. But after doing a lot more research, and particularly after the interview, I felt that I could fit in very well at the school. I’m a little surprised and disappointed that I didn’t at least get waitlisted (I had a good feeling about it, too!), but I’ve accepted that. Congratulations to everyone who got in! Brown’s an amazing school. :)

lol I’m not doing the big description thing but I got accepted!!! My ACT score was 32 and I got a 740 on SAT Bio and 700 on SAT Math 1. I am second in my class of 61 and have a GPA of 4.18. I taught myself clarinet when I was 7 and I listed tons of honors bands I’ve been a part of where I sat first chair and I am also band president this year. I also play sax, F horn, trumpet, guitar, and a bit of piano. I do a lot of community service and I am the president of a Youth Grant making council. I also mentioned that I arranged a song for my high school marching band to play this year. My common app essay was about how I am inspired by Lady GaGa and my Brown essay was about how I took an online college calculus class and everybody told me I couldn’t do it but I ended up getting an A. Overall there were a TON of other things on my application but I am so glad because I worked SOOOO hard and I can’t wait to meet all of you at Brown next year!!!

My D was accepted today to Brown. She is so excited and we are trying to figure how to pay for it.

Reflection

* Strengths: Activities, essays were different, interview was great

 • Weaknesses: not the best SAT scores if you look at single sitting, not to many subject tests. I am also Indian which is never favorable haha
 • Why you think you were accepted/waitlisted/rejected: I think I just showed that im passionate about learning and that I am a leader!
 • Where else were you accepted/waitlisted/rejected:

Accepted: Brown, Georgetown SFS, UCB with Regents Scholarship, UCLA, UCSD, UCD
Waitlisted: Columbia, Swarthmore, Duke
Rejected: Harvard, Stanford, Northwestern, and Penn (ED)

General Comments: I’m so HAPPY! I got no financial aid but you know what Brown is so worth it! =)

Rejected. What really makes me mad is that I had always thought Brown was a “nice” or “kind” school, but my family spent the past month trying to piece a very complicated financial aid thing together for them and they continued to lead me on. It would not have been hard for them to hint that, really, this was unnecessary since I had already been rejected. I’m pretty sure they could see it in the system.
