I’m not too disappointed because Cal Poly wasn’t my first choice, although I would have liked to have had it as an option. Still waiting to hear back from my top 3 choices, and I’ve been accepted to USD, SDSU, and UOP so far so I can’t really complain about being rejected from Cal Poly too much.

No, it’s my high school GPA. I’m sure I took more than enough a-g courses. I’m not going to appeal, but it’s very puzzling.

Just double checked. Number of semesters: Social science (8), English (8), Math (14), Biological science (6), Physical science (4), Foreign language (14), Visual/performing arts (10), and College prep electives (8). Also, I did mention I was a leader, hahaha.

Rejected as bio major
Sat: 2030(1310 m and cr)

Extracurriculars: 21-25 hrs a wk
9 ap’s
Accepted to sdsu honors and ucsb so far… Cal poly is not my top so idc that much hit it would’ve been nice… Mainly hoping for uc Davis well c

Congrats to all of you accepted. I’ve been accepted to TCU, SMU, Gonzaga…and SDSU. So, I’m still in good shape. For those of you rejected, wherever you go…have a blast!
Class of 2018 Rocks!

Bad news for us also

Still think they could announce together and
Keep enlarging the school to make room for all these talented kids.
Congrats. Condolences. Good luck.

Rejected ME OOS

800 Math II 780 Physics
Didn’t have any visual/performance arts, algebra I&II in 7th and 8th grade, didn’t list in app.

Rejected Computer Engineering
4.01 UW; 3.8 W

Work experience
4APs

Accepted at Purdue, ASU, SDSU, Cal Poly Pomona, SMU, and UMinnesota all for computer engineering. SLO is my only rejection, but still waiting on Berkeley, UCLA and UCSB.

How long do you think until Cal Poly becomes the next Stanford or Harvard as far as admissions goes? Some of these rejections are RIDICULOUS.

Rejected Econ 4.02 W 3.6 UC/CSU
1860 sat (700m 580cr) 7 AP’s
Waiting for UC’s, can’t imagine they’ll be easier to get admitted to. Don’t wanna go to Cal poly pomona, but i may end up there. :3

I just dont get it because my friend was waitlisted for electrical engineering and he had lower stats than me. I didnt even get waitlisted–just rejected. I want to get mad at their admission process, but theres really nothing we can do.

Everyone keeps mentioning the bonus points for lack of parents’ college degree. But according to the data that I have seen, parents’ college is not factored- only an absence of a high school diploma. Am I mistaken?

And…GPAs cap at 4.2 in the Cal Poly admissions algorithm. SAT is M + CR only.

With CSU, it is imperative to compare apples to apples. And…one wrong mouse click on an app can make or break a candidate, apparently.

Just trying to make sense of it all. My son was super fortunate to get in to BME at SLO, but was waitlisted today at another of his top schools. One just never knows.

Any of us with younger kids have learned a LOT from this whole experience.
