MCA ~4500

How concrete is our understanding of the MCA?

I only have just over 4300 applying Aerospace engineering. So my only hope really is that MCA scores are only an approximation.

@Hippoli From what I can tell, many MCA scores posted here aren’t exact, especially since there are people who use their CSU 10th - 11th GPA instead of using their 9th - 11th GPA. In my case, if I used the CSU 10th - 11th GPA, my MCA would be around 20 points higher. I calculated my 9th - 11th GPA, and it is a tad bit lower even though I had straight A’s and honors classes that year (I think that the more classes you take, AP/honors course impact is diluted.)

From what I can tell there seems to be only one guy on these threads who seems to know about the MCA score, I think his name is eyemgh, and he seems pretty credible so I think we can trust these MCA scores

@gonewiththeair I was accepted yesterday for OOS Arch, the accept/decline button only showed up this morning though so don’t worry, you probably didn’t accidentally click it

I used my 10-11 because that is the GPU that Cal Poly asked for and I calculated. (3.95)

I’m kinda bummed because I went to a rigorous private school and I struggled to get adjusted, so my first two years were pretty difficult and I just started getting above 4.0 my first semester junior year. Last semester I got a 4.33 while taking Calc BC, AP CS A and Physics C Mechanics & EM so I was pretty proud, but I don’t think Cal Poly cares about that.

Sorry for using the forum for soap boxing, I’m just pretty upset.

My instate daughter just got accepted for Biochem! She found out on the portal. Good luck all!

@Hippoli It’s fine to vent! ^^ Yeah, it’s all a numbers game and it is very upsetting. (And as a side note, taking AP Calc, CS, and Physics and having that GPA is pretty impressive (been there, done that last year, but didn’t do as well. :)) My Calc teacher called me crazy because of that.) :))

Has anyone from CLA heard? My portal hasn’t updated

If you got admitted, what does your portal say?

@cocowils8 "Congratulations, you have been selected for admission to Cal Poly pending your meeting the following Terms and Conditions. Click on the link for further information. "

@flaminhaute dont worry yet at all, other majors didnt get released yet too

I have seen acceptances for bioengineering on this site and “engineering.” Since there are 13 engineering departments I can’t say with confidence that “engineering” is mechanical. I am like you - I am waiting for the decision for OOS mechanical engineering. Good luck to you!

Hey, y’all! I remember being in your position last year so I thought I’d give you the insight I have. I got accepted as a bio major on feb 19th last year (which was later than the year before) so dont fret too much. Although the longer you do not get an acceptance while other people of your major have the more likely you were rejected… Good luck!

Accepted - Biochemistry
CSU GPA: 4.36
ACT: 33C

Will there be more acceptances coming out for the College of Science and math? What is a good MCA for biochemistry?

Good luck to everyone! I was deferred for early decision and accepted for regular. Does anyone know if they send out acceptance emails?

@sundrop88 I just received my acceptance email 10 minutes ago

@sundrop88 I received my email at 10:11 this morning

anyone accepted in state for software engineering RD?
