**OFFICIAL CAL POLY SLO CLASS of 2020 Regular Decision** Thread

I applied as a Bio major and when I check my portal, it still says “no determination has been made at this time”
Does that mean I was rejected? My MCA is a 4445 SAT/1098 ACT

@collegea16 If you are INstate the decisions haven’t gone out yet…only OOS have been notified…and maybe a very few InState kids…

I have a question as I am obsessively wondering about whether or not I’ll get admitted: I looked at the print-out of my application and I noticed that my physics and chemistry classes were posted under “electives” (g). There didn’t seem to be a place to put them in section (d) with the physical science and biological science. I’m wondering if this is true for others, too? I’d hate to not get my 200 bonus MCA points for 4 years of lab science. I found a place online that looks like physics and chemistry might be put in electives for CSU schools (http://www.ucop.edu/agguide/a-g-requirements/d-lab-science/faq/index.html), but I wanted to know other people’s experiences.

Also, don’t bother staying up. It seems that it could be days before we all know our fates. Staying up for several days straight can make you psychotic. :slight_smile: Just know as you are freaking out (yes, I’m talking about you @mariplusplus :)), that you are in excellent company. Maybe we can all run into a wall to show our solidarity.

I am an instate applicant with Biological Science major, with an MCA of around 4400… can I get in?

Will In-State Bio majors come out tomorrow?

@MomOD4 No in state bio majors yet then? Both of my friends who are in state and applied as econ/business admin have gotten their decisions already

@collegea16 OOS is Out Of State. According to all the experts on this forum, the OOS are notified first by SLO and InState later…and everyone is guessing this week (tomorrow) for the first wave of InState YES’s. I think I have seen a few scattered Instate-Accept. But not a lot…so who knows how they do this. Good Luck to you.

It seems that every school, except for CLA and CAFES, have released in-state decisions. Other schools may not have released all their decisions yet, and acceptances will probably continue to trickle in this week. :slight_smile:

Still waiting on Engineering college too as I haven’t seen anyone post in here that has been accepted to it in state.

As for Biology, some people in my school have gotten accepted whereas others’ portals haven’t changed (possible rejection, but only time can tell).

Good luck tomorrow everyone!
I’m hoping to get in for environmental mgmt. and protection
Hopefully we find out tomorrow!

@tasha3 When I got accepted ED at Cal Poly they still had it on my to do list even though I sent them in. Do not worry after a couple days it will say you got them in.

@humanacidtrip are you in-state?

Sorry I just saw this, I’m an in-state bio major and I got accepted! @collegea16

Yes @travisscott90210

And peep the post right above me too. Other people have also posted in this thread about being accepted for Bio in-state.

@EnviroChris @ me if you find out tomorrow! im waiting for that major too

is there still a chance for me to get accepted? @humanacidtrip

@travisscott90210 Post #190

“Well, I just called admissions and somebody answered! I was freaking out because I realized I hadn’t included my first two semesters of Algebra I in 8th grade on my application. I thought it might take 1000 points off of my MCA since we need 4 semesters of Algebra. She looked at what I entered and said that I had the 10 semesters of math that they wanted and they are able to figure out I had Algebra I - or they didn’t care, because I had their max of 10 semesters of math. She said that not adding it would not count against me. In addition, I asked her if it was possible that some Mechanical Engineering majors would hear right away about acceptances and others would hear later instead of all ME’s hearing at once. She said, yes, that is often how it happens. They let people know over the next couple of weeks. She didn’t know who had been sent acceptances and who hadn’t. Her name was Emily (in admissions). She was great. They are open until 5pm.”

Up and at em!!! Good luck today everyone!

@mariplusplus Does your dad know at UCSB an engineering major must take 18 units a quarter? They want you to to graduate in 4 years. After living with an engineering major - that is tough to do and stressful!

Trying not to check my portal until people report majors from CAFES. However, if SLO hasn’t even released OOS for CAFES (which I don’t think they have), I slightly doubt instate will hear today.

It’s all pricks and needles for almost everyone in-state today. :-SS good luck to all! Hoping for some positive update on my portal some time this week.
