will they say when the waitlist is completely over? the website says “All candidates should expect to have a final decision no later than June 30th.” but that’s a loooooong time to wait :(

it feels like the week before march 31 again.
sigh

I’d probably faint if I had the April 1st feeling again . . . but for some reason, I feel okay. No letters or anything yet, so I’m not getting my hopes up.

Yea that week leading up to April 1st was horrible.

Let’s keep this thread alive. Just think, exactly one year ago waitlisted students finally started to receive official rejections from Brown. I called and was informed that Brown would continue to evaluate waitlisted applicants probably until the end of June. No new news. Gah!

Now I’m upset because Brown does’t even reply to my email!Maybe they are busy I guess…but it’s still upsetting…Maybe I’ll just get ready to go to Seattle…by the way, where do you guys go if not admitted to Brown?

they took two days to reply to my email… but then it turned out to be a generic response. an admissions officer followed up later, making the official (and again, generic) statement that you should hear back by the end of June, when they will finalize their waitlist. i mean that’s a really, really long time! only after that (first week of July) can we call to get the results.

it’s a rather bleak wait-out ahead. hmmph.

I called yesterday and the admissions rep said they are continuing to evaluate the applications. However it really looks grim because, come on, didn’t they already evaluate us when we applied, then again when they took off some other kids from the waitlist a few weeks ago? I feel like they are just dragging us on with no hope. Plus they never give us any information! Its so agrivating!!!

yeah they really are taking way too long…columbia was so puunctual with its reply…may 16th just as they had said…im deliberating between Duke and Brown (if i get in) and i just hope that they hurry up their decision…

I’m glad I no longer care about Brown (columbus day fiasco convinced me it is far too liberal)…but I still hope you guys get off the waitlist. Emory is it for me and I’m super happy :)

Gosh - I wish they would announce if they are even going to be conducting a second wave of acceptances. I know that some schools (i.e. Harvard) have confirmed that they will accept more people, but Brown remains silent. In all honesty, I doubt that we will hear anything until the middle to end of June. Another thing. It looks like last year they announced that they would have all decisions out by June 15th, so it seems that they have pushed back the date a bit. So, I guess we can have a little bit of hope - maybe. Do you think they are waiting to get our final grades from the end of the year?

hi everyone…I’m new to the forum but I’ve been reading everyone’s concerns and replies and the acceptances. I am happy for all those who have gotten in. I like everyone of you have been keeping tabs on the number of people who have been accepted so far from the waitlist. Seems like a small number now. But I know a lot of people who applied to Brown and got in but are going to like Harvard and Princeton and stuff. I feel that there is a lot of hope for us. aND bLUESKYJADEGLOBE…they’ll probably get our final grades. I know I get out of school on the 26th…so they’ll definitely get mine. But I am so praying that a majority get in from the waitlist…so praying.

OMG! I was on the computer watching cartoons on Youtube (don’t judge, lol) when I heard the door bell ring. I looked out the window and saw a Fedex truck. Because I was still in my night clothes, I chose not to answer the door to retrieve the package when he left. When I opened the door, there was a package sitting there…from Brown! I actually got in off the waiting list! So I guess this is the start of the second round of waitlist notifications! Good luck to everyone else–here’s the keeping the flame alive; there’s definitely still hope!

Wow! Congrats!!

i also got a fedex package from brown! this morning! and i would like to note that i have not received any calls yet whatsoever. WOO. i may not be able to go because they offered me terrible financial aid…but i am going to try to make it work! for reference: i am from nyc. i am a biracial theater/newspaper kid, interested in urban studies and english. good luck to everyone else.

Congrats circleglass! I too am a theatre kid…haha, but with a passion for science.

Congrats to both of you! There is still hope for the rest of us!

Congrats! If they were doing this by region, however, I might be out of the running. I’m also from NYC and I have heard nothing from Brown for the longest time ever. The only thing Fedex came with today was my new computer for college :(. Oh well, I’ll keep the faith!

I was also accepted off the waitlist! I received the phone call from the admissions office two days ago and then an acceptance package from FedEx yesterday. There’s been no info on financial aid yet, so I can’t say for sure whether or now I’ll attend. However, I’m pretty excited and will probably go visit!

Anyone else notice the irony of Brown using FedEx? Makes me truly wonder what Brown can do for u…
