*Official Class of 2016 University of Michigan EA Decisions Thread*

Yeah, I’ve never been on cc this much… i’ve already decided i’m not going to school the day after, unless we find out on a Friday–I wouldn’t be able to handle seeing all of the people who did get in. I’d cry if I got accepted or rejected. I’d rather get rejected than deferred, though–false hope for four more months? I don’t think so!

So, I don’t know if my brother (current senior at UMich) is playing a joke on me, but he told me that his friend’s girlfriend’s sister get an e-mail of acceptance today…

@drewski94 99.999% a joke. Admissions officers don’t work on Saturdays.

@mam1298 apparently we are supposed to hear this Friday, so you will have the Saturday to recuperate, hopefully from an abundance of joy!

Do you know approximately what time this Friday?

Idk for sure. I’d assume its in the afternoon though (Eastern time of course) If i remember from looking at last years threads, most of the decisions came between 4-5PM EST.

what makes you so sure that it’s this friday?

@stewta – Figured.

oh. my. gosh. that’s too far, but at the same time, WAY too close. i wish you all the best of luck!!! i’ll probably say that again multiple times during the week, btw… just a heads up :)

I’m not sure, but I thought I read on one of these that somebody called admissions and they said most likely the 16th but no gurantees.

lol it will probably come the last possible day which is the 23rd because thats just my luck!!!

it’ll be the 15th most likely. they did the 16th last year, and they have a tendency to send out decisions on thursdays

why do they send decisions on thursday?

I’m getting sick of the “Oh, I’m sure you’ll get in…” responses from family, coworkers, etc. I mean, its better than, “Your EC’s suck, good luck, lol.” , but really no one in my family except for my grandfather really knows how hard it is to get into a school like U Mich.

So I applied (early action)to the school of kinesiology at Michigan for a Movement Science Major. I currently have a GPA of 3.8 and have taken a total of 6 APs. Also I am on the varsity cross country and track teams. I am the president of the Model UN club and a co-captain of my quiz bowl team. Also I have volunteered over 400 hours total as well as volunteering at school for orphans in India as well. And I have a ACT score of a 31. I am looking forward to U Mich’s decision , people have told me I will get in but I am not completely positive. So I would like to know what you think my chances are being accepted to Umich.
thank you

^this is not a chances thread.

^ this is not a chances thread, but yes, you do have very good chances to get in.

I really hope decisions come out Thursday so I have something to be happy about after I get rejected from Harvard…

sup guys, I’m new to CC and am applying to U maryland, U delware, Binghanmton, Mich(reach), wisconsin(accepted) and lehigh. Just wondering, do you guys think michigan is better then wisconsin so much so that it is worth the extra 10 thousand? thoughts? obv for someone who the money matters to an extent

@knicksman94 it depends what area of study you’re going into and whether or not you’re planning on going to graduate school. I’d say that if you’re going to end up at grad. school, the 10K is def. not worth it because then you’re undergrad won’t be that significant in the scheme of things after you get your advanced degree. Michigan is significantly better, but Wisconsin is still really good and the difference isn’t huge. Non-academic wise, they are very similar. Both have great sports, Madison and Ann Arbor are both fantastic college towns, and both are a similar size. If you’re really hurting for money, I would probably say that you should go to Wisconsin because it is still a great school and 40K (over 4 years) is more significant of a difference than Michigan’s higher prestige. Plus, if Michigan truly is your reach, reach schools aren’t always the best to attend. Many people don’t think about this, but you don’t want to be towards the bottom of your graduating class, Im not saying you would be at Michigan, I have no way of knowing, but you’d be closer to the top at Wisconsin.

Knicksman Im guessing your from ny on by your username and the fact that your applying to binghamton so you would be out of state at michigan so even if it is a reach you probably would not be at the bottom because of in state kids also I think wisconsin maryland and udel are pretty similar in quality of academics I don’t think one is too much better then the other so Id pick the school that you liked the best and is best for your major but in my opinion if that is michigan its worth the 10g a year
