** Official Class of 2017 University of Michigan EA Decisions Thread **

domnotte and jobryan, congratulations on your acceptance? Did you two apply EA or rolling?

I applied EA

@Alexandre I was deferred, but yes I applied EA. Just have to wait until April now to see my results.

If its any help to people, here are my stats:

School type: international private school

Personal essay: about how I overcame adversity, and what I learned from it
Umich supp 1 essay: being in the entrepreneurial community
Umich supp 2 essay: think it was really good. Was full of specifics, and I really put through the feeling that I was excited about Ross’ program

Recs:
Teacher recs: excellent, I used my math and business teacher. They know me really well and like me too
Counselor rec: excellent, knew her well too
My school is really small, so I guess the teachers knew us more personally

Nationality: Singaporean (tiny South East Asian island nation)

My email took HOURS to come after it was posted in wolverine access at around 10 am. (I’ve been checking every five minutes for the past two months :/)

Is this message better than being deferred?

Thank you for your freshman application to the University of Michigan and for having your fall semester grades submitted. After an initial individualized and comprehensive review of your application, we have determined that we would like to review your senior year course work before making a final decision. Our senior year course work review process will begin in late January 2013. We hope to complete the review of your fall semester grades as soon as possible.

If you are accepted do you need to turn in mid-year grades or just final transcript?

JBoyFly15, sounds like you sent your fall semester grades in? If so, then you’ve got that step completed while others are being asked to send them and while you were not given an an answer during the EA notification it sounds like they will review (as they are for all the deferred kids) your application soon. Good luck.

Mommaof5, typically once accepted colleges only need the final transcript, but you can always check with the University.

does anybody know if we were to receive merit scholarships would we have been notified with our acceptance letter?

Did everyone who was accepted to LSA receive the invitation to apply to the honors program?

seniorjd - no, merit info will come later - could be two+ months.

@lillyp4
I received the invite to apply for honors yesterday (friday the 21st)
