<p>@cneogy: That’s what I thought too. My GPA is around a 3.75 or so on a 4.0 scale (my school does out of 100; it’s a 94 UW), but I was still admitted. Not really sure why.</p>

I’m really happy coz this is the first decision I’ve got and it turns out positive! :slight_smile: plus I really like U-M a lot based on what I know about American top colleges :slight_smile: and I like American education much better than say S’porean or British ones… so really excited! Common App Personal Statement: completely based on the Josh Ritter song “Thin Blue Flame”. Wasn’t my favorite, but I felt the message about my faith and love of art was there.
Activity Essay: about my internship, standard
Why Michigan: split it into the sense of activism, rigorous academics, and my love for the school as a whole (campus, EC’s, etc.)
Diversity Michigan Essay: talked about my lifelong relationship with the Atlanta Braves and the community involved with it. I loved this essay, actually. </p>

<p>Now my daughter is having second thoughts about Michigan’s weather. If UCLA/USC/Georgetown accepts her, it would be a difficult decision for her. Any recommendations?</p>

<p>30 ACT 4.1 GPA Weighted- hoped to debate at Mich ( on the recruit list) senior class prez, elected model congress prez, 8 gavels, mock trial lead attorney 2 years ( only freshmen to be asked to be on team in 8 years)award for service and academics local paper, policy debate awards, 2 sport varsity athlete, founder debate club, half marathons, homecoming queen, lead in fall play and spring musical, started non profit for serve food banks…no study halls, APS and honors courses. </p>

<p>Any advice would be greatly appreciated. Just at a loss.</p>

<p>For early action, will there be acceptances and deferrals and no rejections?</p>

<p>I guess so… So far no one said anything about rejection. and I remember reading somewhere once that U - M doesn’t reject downright for EA :slight_smile: another chance for everyone. Keep faith!</p>
