Official Class of 2018 Thread

Haha, no my person was really sweet! I just wasn’t sure if it was common/ok to contact them etc.

do y’all think its bad that i cant make the Wellesley preview days? are they much different than just visiting and taking a tour, sitting in on classes, or talking to students?

I don’t think I can make it either… :(

Congratulations, Purple Class of 2018! I’m a first year. Hope to see some of you at SOC!

I can’t make it to the open either, but I’ve never seen the campus. I’m definitely going to go for a tour at some point during the month, because as much as I love Wellesley, I’m kind of stumped on making the decision between going to Wellesley or staying instate to College of William & Mary. However, Wellesley’s aid was fantastic, so the decision might just be out of my hands. By the way, has everyone gotten a physical letter already?

nope, haven’t gotten a physical letter yet

I REALLY want to go to SOC, but I just checked flights and the cheapest are running around $500 #realtears

I have not received a physical letter yet, but I suspect that they won’t send mine until my financial aid package is calculated, which won’t be until next week.

I am going to Spring Open Campus, but the flights are so expensive, I know. My mom insisted we go though, because she has never seen Wellesley before and she really won’t be comfortable with me going unless she’s been there it.

Will Wellesley provide travel assistance? I know Smith do that for some students.

How much would you recommend an overnight? I have not yet visited campus and will only be able to fly into Boston for one day (when flights are cheapest). I will definitely take a tour and info session. I’m currently trying to decide between Wellesley and one other school (so Open Campus is a little late.) Will I not get a proper feel of Wellesley if I don’t overnight? Thanks!!

@iddy09 I went to Wellesley for a single day visit, and I did the tour, info session, lunch with a student, and sat in one class and if I had to make a decision based on only that visit (without an overnight), I would feel comfortable doing so. The overnight is a great opportunity, but if you just make sure your day visit is a thorough one you won’t need it. The lunch with a Wellesley student is great! You can ask any question to students and get a really good feel for the things you can’t find on a website, which is what you get out of an overnight, time with students, it’s just slightly less time.

I’ll be going to SOC but for my own reasons. You’d be okay if you didn’t. :)

Glad to hear that you had a great time there. Just wondering, where do you register for Discovery Wellesley? Is there a deadline for it? ( I didn’t find the place for registration, maybe i missed it )
