Official Cornell Class of 2019 Early Decision

Yeah I’m also applying to ILR and I got a 34 on my ACT in one sitting. Applying from Nashville, TN. Unfortunately I feel like there are a lot more applicants to ILR this year though due to the amount of advertising Cornell seems to conduct for it… might make things a bit tougher than usual

@hutchmemphis‌ I’m assuming you’re from memphis… do you happen to go to mus?

I’m taking AP Studio Art right now! What portfolio(s) did you make? Our entire class is so worried about not getting fives! You must have done really well!

@zachhiboy‌ I did Studio Art Drawing (: My concentration had to do with my international non-profit work in Ghana. If you have any questions feel free to pm me or anything!!

I like @tarunsudham‌’s idea. Let’s list out something unique about us, not a personal statement!

To make it easier we can just answer a few simple questions:

where you live/nationality:

passions:

favorite sport/athletics:

favorite food/restaurant:

funniest/most interesting story you ever had (everyone has one, don’t be scared):

I live in california, am an indian raised here, and have a burning passion for physics :3. I like swimming, but haven’t been competitive for 2 years now :c. My favorite restaurant/fast food joint is In n out.

I think the most interesting story i had was when i and my classmates (for multivar) found out that our teacher’s birthday was today. I got the notification today because i friended him on facebook a few weeks ago, and today, we all took shifts creating a poster for him! It was last minute, and really really captured our favorite moments of his class. We all sang happy birthday to him and cracked jokes during class. Awesome way to round off first semester :3.

@cornellapp2015‌ I’m not so sure… They’ll been aggressively advertising for a while. And even if it did, the effect would be a matter of a few percentage points ED. Do you disagree?

@mollii4‌ Yup I did! Gosh soo freaked out! :-S

Let’s try something. How many are applying to ILR? Like this post if you are.

^That’s so similar to youtube.

Copied off youtube :)

@RtotheB‌ I’m starting to accept the fact that I may not be accepted. I don’t have any architecture work experience at all

where you live/nationality: Pickering Ontario(Canada)

passions: Mathematics

favorite sport/athletics: Basketball

favorite food/restaurant: IDK so many to choose from… Im FAT!!!

funniest/most interesting story you ever had (everyone has one, don’t be scared): On my common app essay I talkeb about an old man I met at the retirement home and how he was angry at first but seemed to like, i then went on to talk about how he helped transform my view on senior citizens. When I was younger I didnt get along with my grandparents but adter I met him, I got along with my gma really well(gpa passed away at the time). And the general impact on my life

Of course. Any college admissions offer is conditional on the student’s ability to maintain academics and not slacking off (Ds, Fs). Also any instances of fraud or crimes (felonies) are reasons for colleges to rescind an offer. Indeed, this past summer, there as a Cornell ED accepted kid here on this forum who got rescinded due to stupidly slacking off. His/her efforts to get back in were chronicled here. I don’t recall the end results – I think Cornell offered the kid one year off with a super conditional admit for Fall 2015 – i don’t remember.

where you live/nationality: Connecticut but I go to boarding school in Virginia

where you live/nationality: New Jersey!

passions: drawing/painting, baking, horses, tennis, kayaking, travelling, Operation Smile (:

favorite sport/athletics: Competitive horse riding on the A/AA circuit (Jumpers)

favorite food type/restaurant: Don’t have a favorite restaurant, but I love weird delicacies, Italian, and seafood!

funniest/most interesting story you ever had (everyone has one, don’t be scared): while I was working in a hospital in Tamale, Ghana during the summer of 2013, I had a strong connection with a young boy named Anyegre. I was with him through his entire surgical process: screening, filled out his medical records, pre-op preparation (getting him used to the mask/what doctors would look like, etc), watched his surgery that repaired his cleft lip and palate, through his post-op recovery, right up until he was discharged from the hospital… I have other interesting stories, but this is the closest to my heart. Someday, I’ll go back and see how he’s doing…

where you live/nationality: India :)

passions: writing, partying (counts right? :P), community service, debate, swimming

favorite sport/athletics: football and swimming

favorite food type/restaurant: sushi, spaghetti and basically just everything else haha.

funniest/most interesting story you ever had (everyone has one, don’t be scared): haha honestly way too many to count but I’ll pick one random one.
While directing our volunteer play for underprivileged children, I had to ensure that dress up was running smoothly 20 minutes before the show. We ran out of everything possible including pins and skirts and makeup and had to improvise with it all, which took quite a bit of work haha. The girls wanted to look a certain way, the guys only wanted to play temple run on my phone. We finally ended up getting ready 15 minutes after the show was supposed to start. I was worried no one would come because it was amateur and the children were young and novel actors. However, the auditorium was packed and the smiles on the kids’ faces were literally the greatest thing I took from it.

where you live/nationality: Texas!

passions: Baseball, soccer, swimming, guitar, cars, and tailgating (jk lol)

favorite sport/athletics: Baseball, soccer, swimming (all varsity)

favorite food type/restaurant: Tex-Mex, Italian, and Japanese

funniest/most interesting story you ever had (everyone has one, don’t be scared): In 2006 or 2007, my oldest brother (graduated in 2009 from Yale) swam against Michael Phelps. Before one of the practices, we were in one of the locker rooms and Phelps walked by and I had my UMich shirt on and he said nice shirt and we talked for about a minute on why I wanted to go to UMich (When I was little, I really really wanted to go to UMich for some odd reason) and in the end he gave me one of his goggles and signed my shirt. Fast forward to 2011, I saw Phelps again when my second oldest brother (currently at Hopkins) was trying out for the US team and I swapped my UMich shirt for Big Red!

@khagedorn96 From the people I have talked to, there are about 20 people on CC applying to ILR.
