Official Cornell Class of 2019 Early Decision

Accepted to COE! incredibly excited :smiley:

@Jaysun18‌ to hotel

Does cornell have an appeals process? I’m pretty bummed out that i got rejected :/

@skylerr1 It’s in Mid April after RD applicants are admitted. You can check it out at the admitted students site http://admit.cornell.edu/cornell-days/directions.

Hey guys, I’ve gotten a lot of requests to see my essays and they’ve seemed to help out some people. I encourage all other people who got into Cornell (CAS for me) to do the same and share their knowledge. Message me if anyone still wants to see my essays, as I thought they got me into Cornell (2030 SAT I after taking it 5 times since freshman year).

For everyone who’s been accepted, does anyone know what their NetID is? Or where I can find mine? My parents got an email about getting a free Cornell Parent decal and some other things, but they need my NetID to complete the form.

@hopefulrm you get your NetID after you enroll

I enrolled but didnt get my NetID. Do they email it to you?

@acdc1272‌ Me too, I enrolled but haven’t gotten an email
@SweetIceTea‌ what about you?

@hopefulrm waiting for financial aid stuff (parents want to see how much they will offer me before I enroll). Family can full pay but they want to wait it out. Did you get FA info?

@SweetIceTea‌ I didn’t apply for FA, but I think info was mentioned on the physical acceptance letter, if you’ve gotten it yet.

Anyone know how flexible the FA office is? Like will they be able to lower your estimated parent contribution if you talk to them? I have my aid offer, but if we can’t lower the cost, I won’t be able to go.

I got financial aid. Now I’m waiting for my parents to enroll me.

@sweeticetea @hopefulrm‌ when is the deadline for deposits and do we have a to do list?

@Kungpaoasian Deadline for deposits is January 23rd and we’re gonna get new info + an updated to-do list in April

did you guys get the official package? i haven’t gotten mine yet :frowning:

@missartsygirl‌ What official package?

Congrats to all who got in and hugs to all who didn’t. If anyone who was rejected from CALS is still following this, can you tell me if your letter mentioned anything to the effect of ‘you can apply again as a transfer next year’ or ‘for information about how to transfer in after freshman year, see this link’, or was it just a ‘best of luck in your collegiate years’? My son’s letter didn’t say anything at all about transferring in after a year or two, but I have seen examples from previous years where they did (and not the guaranteed transfer option, which I know has very specific language). I’m wondering if there is more than one version of a rejection letter and what that could mean if he did want to apply later. Thanks.

@hopefulrm‌ the official letter in the mail

@momi1223 It sounds like it is referring to being a general transfer student and not the guaranteed transfer thing, but I could me wrong. There is a thread on CC that details what the GT letter said:
