Official Cornell Class of 2019 Regular Decision Applicants!!!!!

@juliare007 so, so strange. although, cornell is mega reach for me lol

@ivyhopefulebound‌ samee  but you never know, tbh, ivies are the most random of all the schools in terms of admissions, I feel like we all have pretty much the same chance of getting admitted

Hi. Do I have any hope for Cornell ILR? I didn’t receive the early notification and was recently rejected from Johns Hopkins and Duke and waitlisted at Northwestern and Vandy. Feeling really down.

I want to be optimistic but I know that I do not have a chance… so I am trying to discourage myself…

It is not strange to be rejected by matches and safeties because those know they are such with you and they want to protect their yield. One thing I have stressed to a lot of students is it is important to show love to those schools or else they would assume they are your safeties. Schools like Cornell ( especially HYPS) do not care about your interest because they know you will most likely go if admitted.

Good luck to all of you.

Surprisingly got into NYU, but that was the only private school I got into. Rejected from Penn ED, Northwestern, Stanford, Chicago EA deferred and later rejected. But got into most of my public schools like Cal, UCLA, SD, UIUC, waitlisted at Michigan… So I kind of think Cornell is going to kick me out. I’m an international applicant too XD Fingers tightly crossed.

@TanTheeeta‌ I got into NYU and was rejected Penn ED too! I got rejected from Gtown today so I’m not sure if I have a chance at Cornell or Brown. We’ll see.

Rejected by Penn ED, Northwestern, Duke, and UVA. Waitlist Johns Hopkins. Accepted Boston College, Boston University, and NYU. Bring it on, Cornell. I’m ready for anything

Waitlisted by Johns Hopkins, accepted to AU and GW. Time to cross fingers for three days. Concentration in school on Monday and Tuesday will be nonexistent

So I’m freaking out right now…I was looking through my spam folder today and I just found out Cornell sent me an email back in February telling me I needed to submit SAT II results. I didn’t realize they were required so I just sent them right now but do you think they’ll deem my app incomplete? I still got an email saying when results would be posted but I’m really worried

@semperfi‌ I would check the Cornell Application status site. If you have already set it up, you should take a look at it. If you haven’t already, you should do so asap (they should have sent you an e-mail telling you how to set it up). The site will tell you if the application is complete or not. Hopefully that helps a little!

Honestly, if you applied to a school that needs SAT II’s and you didn’t send them, I’d expect a rejection due to negligence. Sorry, but maybe this should teach you to be more careful in the future.

@semperfi, you should have read the admissions requirements carefully when making your application. Cornell will review your application without the SATII but honestly, they may deem your application incomplete, especially since they notified you to submit the scores back in February and it wasn’t done.

@semperfi I think it isn’t likely you will be admitted. You didn’t send the required tests, and then you inadvertently ignored the email. They won’t reopen your file now. It would take a miracle. …

Actually on my Application Status page it says I don’t need to do anything further that my application has been forwarded to the admissions staff for review. Huh.

What school did you apply to? Not all schools require SAT II’s…

CAS, which requires two

Then as I said before, nothing you can do now, but it doesn’t look good. Think of it as you not submitting a teacher rec… It’s the main show, but it’s still important!

So… who else is nervous?

After getting three rejections in a row, I don’t even know what to feel :frowning: But at least I have a glimmer of hope for Cornell! Wish us luck!!!
