Official Cornell Class of 2019 Regular Decision Applicants!!!!!

anyone know anything about when financial aid packages are out?

@mollii4 it just means that as long as you don’t fail all of your classes or do something like get arrested, you will stay admitted.

3.73 GPA UW
some luck and a couple goat sacrifices to His Noodliness wouldn’t hurt

@biggieboi33 @bizswann3 It sounds like you were offered the “guaranteed” transfer option. You attend another college for one year, and as long as you take the appropriate classes and meet a minimum GPA, you can transfer to Cornell for your sophomore year. You can find more information about it on CC - just search “Cornell guaranteed transfer.”

The offer of transfer admission is made to a small number of applicants. You will receive a letter setting out the procedure. You take a specified list of courses and earn specified grades and your transfer is automatic. Each Cornell college has its own transfer requrements.

Of course, if you spend a year at another college and do well there, you may not want to transfer.

I got waitlisted CAS, which is a bummer considering how hard I’ve worked these past 4 years. But then again, I am well aware of the myriad of talented and incredible students on CC, so I’m not here to complain. It’s just that Cornell was absolutely my number one, and I’ve had an ongoing dream these past few months of getting one of those glorious acceptance letters to frame in my room. I was really just wondering if there is any hope at all, or if there is anything I can do to improve my chances. Letters? Emails? Campus visits? Anything? Also, does anyone know of Cornell’s history with the waitlist for CAS. I accepted the waitlist spot for both fall and spring admission because I am confident that Cornell would be a great fit, even if it means I have to wait a semester to attend. Now, I am not totally discouraged about the future, as I’ve been accepted into some fine universities, one of which I am quite set on. But it’s just so hard to get invested in a school when you’re still not sure of your decision from your top choice. It makes it even more difficult when 2 other kids from your high school have already been accepted to your top choice. But what do you think CC? Is there still hope? Congratulations to all those accepted by the way! I truly hope to join you next year!

thanks guys

All admissions are conditional. Fail Spring courses, fail to graduate, get convicted of a felony, your admission is withdrawn.

Those of you who have a “conditional acceptance” might be asked to attend a pre college summer program that Cornell runs…it starts June 16th or 17th…

Also, did anyone who accepted the waitlist spot receive a confirmation email of your acceptance to the waitlist? I know that for the other schools I was waitlisted at, that was the case, but I haven’t received anything from Cornell.

Accepted to CAS

Offered wait list? Accept a place on the wait list. Offer to enroll in January 2016, rather than in August 2015. Get straight A grades in May and send those grades to Cornell.

Waitlisted at CALS. Devastated

ACCEPTED CAS! I started crying. Cornell was the last letter I opened.

@jamesjunkers‌ I am so sorry for your news.i have been following most of your posts for months and you deserve entry for all the efforts you put into c.c. if only that counted.you will go far beyond this in life .know you have already impacted people who haven’t and never will meet you. Best of luck in whatever journey the future leads you to

2nd Rejection of the day… So unbelievably disappointed and devastated… I guess everything happens for a reason, or something like that. Congrats to everyone who got in!

Rejected from Cornell and Brown… I have a headache.

@jamesjunkers AGREED you are an amazing individual and trust me when I tell you that this is just one small blip in your life…you are going to be very successful! I remember that I sat catatonic decades ago when I did not make it into my FIRST choice school, and I ended up going to my state school when it seemed like all my friends had better choices. But, in the end, I have thrived in life with a six figure salary in a career that I love…I was on these threads because I now have children going through the process, but your posts caught my attention. Believe me when I tell you that I have friends who went to better colleges than me that ended up alone and unhappy in their 50’s due to bad life choices, and friends who went to community college who are thriving and speading joy throughout the planet. Chin up!

Accepted but rejected from all other reaches

Has anyone that was accepted received any financial aid award information?
