Ajay, you have demonstrated a unique, enthusiastic, optimistic attitude on CC and, even though this is a bump in the road, someone with your attitude cannot fail.

Usually we don’t know at the start of the journey what it means to complete it successfully. Good things will happen to you; we just don’t know what they are yet.

So we will now look for you on the Colby, Kalamazoo, Whitman and Occidental threads.

Ajayc, I’ll hide you in my room and sneak you into all my classes, k?

I think it was rather insensitive and untrue, considering people like Ajayc had plenty of personality but lacked sufficient SAT scores. Dartmouth really focused on grabbing those high scorers this year.

In all honesty applying as an international student with only above average academics Dartmouth was always a long (very long!) shot. So no surprise at the decision then.
I am with Bocca though, YOU SHOULD HAVE gotten in instead! I am truly bummed Dartmouth would take someone else over you, especially someone like her!
Cheer up though, we got 14 more colleges to look forward to. (Oye Sam, Goddamn mail ma tyesto ke lekhyou??)

My small contribution to the ED Brigade chorus, all the very, very best going forward!!!

Please also let any of us know if you need any help with Colby, Kalamazoo, Whitman and Occidental, especially with feedback on your essays. We’ve got your back!!

ACCEPTED!!! I’ve been reading these discussions on CC for awhile, but this is my first actual post. Thanks to everyone who taught me all that I needed to know about the admissions process! Congrats to everyone and I can’t wait to meet all you guys next fall!

Hello, from an '11 here! Congratulations to all of you who have been accepted! It’s awesome to see some of you newer members choose to be a part of the Dartmouth family - I myself wasn’t sure about choosing Dartmouth by the time I was accepted but now that I’m here, I have no regrets. The opportunities for academic and job advancement here are endless, but just a little forewarning - you have to take advantage of those opportunities! I’ve surprised myself throughout my first term here, discovering that I was much better than I thought I was at making connections, making the best out of my Dartmouth education, and above all, having fun (this is one thing I absolutely, absolutely stress).

My utmost condolences to Ajay and all of those who were turned down by McNutt. I was impressed by the achievements of the EDers this year - and I think this is a testament to just how crazy admissions has gotten. I hope you all develop a strong resolve to overcome this though. In all honesty, a lot of Dartmouth students fail to take advantage of the vast opportunities here - that’s their loss. I’m confident that some of you on CC will employ the same creativity that helped you through your college admissions process in your career.

If anyone has any questions, don’t hesitate!

shackelton… thank you for that. i was hoping i wasnt the only one to notice that there was more than one person rejected from dartmouth in this early decision round. some post over three thousand times (and document post counts by starting new threads) while others… well… have better things to do- me being one of them- but that does not make rejection or deferral any easier

hey, everyone, including but not limited to ajay, good luck and i hope everything works out for you
