Hey all, I’ll post my stats later (I was accepted!! yay!) but was wondering where you go to school, behindthelens? I live in DC and go to Woodrow Wilson (DCPS- public school) but seeing that you live in MD and go to a school that is private and Quaker sounds like you’re describing Sidwell and I don’t know of any ED admits from there, only one deferred girl. Just wondering!

Welcome and congratulations to woodiewoo and cameraman!!!

Dartmouth ED Brigade Missing in Action: 22

We’ve got 22 folks whom we haven’t heard from. It would be great if they could post.

Also, so that we can assemble a full record of all of us for future use by other EDers and the like, it would be great if everyone completed a detailed profile.

Congratulations to all who got in. You must be amazing! Do you receive in your party an RD applicant who hasn’t been around Dartmouth forum for a looong time?

hey guys, hate to repeat my post:

but has anyone gotten their letters by mail yet? i’m a bit antsy being literally half-way around the world… with the need to reply by the 20th, i’m not sure whether the admissions office is generally sending them slowly, or whether mine’s being delayed by the speed of international mail

I just got mine today.

so did i. it was quite exciting!

Hey… congrats to everyone who got in! I just wanted to say to BalletGirl that the list of who got in (or the totals or w/e) will not be that helpful. This is because, in order to get an accurate account of proportions of CCers who got in, we cant count anybody who came ‘out of the woodwork’ once accepted. The current proportions would lead us to believe that CCers have a better chance of getting in. This simply cannot be concluded because our stats are skewed, because this is a voluntary response survey. Of course those who get in are more likely to say so. An argument could be made for the fact that in order to be more accurate, we can only count those who said that they are applying ED before they found out if they got in or not.

<---- Sorry if my sentences are too wordy and confusing. After taking AP Statistics, you basically learn to write like this when explaining stats related stuff.

mhminer,

Congratulations!!

A couple of things. Did the D track coach write a letter on your behalf to the admissions committee? Are you intending to participate in intercollegiate track at D?

Thanks.

Lord Pamplemouse,

Pray tell my man, what does thou mean’th by this? – “the list of who got in (or the totals or w/e) will not be that helpful. This is because, in order to get an accurate account of proportions of CCers who got in, we cant count anybody who came ‘out of the woodwork’ once accepted. The current proportions would lead us to believe that CCers have a better chance of getting in.
I am not intending to draw any conclusions from this data, I am simply interested in recording it for posterity and for the future use of eventual EDers.

I am well aware, btw, that about half of the Dartmouth ED Brigade joined in the last 10 days of so. Even among the 35 or so of us who have been with CC a while, a high percentage of whom’s participation can only be described as desultory, at best.
