Official Dec 2012 SCIENCE thread

@uscollege, yeah, you’re right. the pH of the acid in the table given was less than the PH in the halfway point in the graph.

So was uscolleg’s guess right? i remember that too and i think i guessed the same

it was lower friction the gravity on the top of mount everest is .28% lower than 9.8 and with their precision that is neglible it is because of less air molecules so less force of friction due to air

did both of them increase in the one with .200 mol question?

decrease your adding a higher concentration of NaOH so it titrates with less amount because instead of 1 mol per 10L you have 2 mol per 10 liter

but i think it said a higher mol in the acid not the base so you need more titrant(NaOH)

Huh? It said you were adding a 0.2 Mol of NaOH

Gosh I guessed I totally messed up on that one ( i could of sworn it said for the acid)…does anyone know if the dune question was amplitude and wavelength?

I think the dune was frequency and amplitude

It was freq amplitude

The dune question was wavelenth ( the space between the dunes) and amplitude (the height of the dune)

I think Nivers is right

Yeah. The space between the dunes was wavelength, and the height was amplitude.
Frequency is 1/T, :).

good, i thought i got that wrong (people at my center were saying frequency)…currently i think i missed 3

Currently, I got 3 wrong in math. -.-

For the arguing scientists section (second to the last), was the size of the molecules question iodine < H2O < [the other substance]
?

iodine cant come before H20 cuz it doesnt dissolve in it.

It’s been posted on page 1~3. Mineral Oil thing > Iodine > H2O

no
dune was amplitude and wavelength in whichever order it was it showed the distance between waves you cant get frequency without time or the period first

Um…

Did anyone else who took the Oct 2011 test notice that this test was a bit…similar?

http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/act-preparation/1229593-october-22-2011-act-science-discush.html

Just skim these pages, they’re the SAME questions being discussed.

I recognized things on EVERY test, not just science. It’s rather odd to me, but is this normal that they give the same exact test? I’m 95% sure that they pretty much gave me the same one as Oct 2011 lulz hope I don’t sound like a total clueless idiot.
