OFFICIAL Deferred Class of 2017

Thank you guys!

~3.65 UW 33 ACT and waitlisted… off to Wisco or IU Kelley for me!

Wondering what happened with faiintx. Don’t remember seeing a post.

I think there’s our answer, CollCraz.

Yeah, you’re right. Just want to say to all the students out there who are disappointed and/or are still waiting … your posts have been so genuine and wonderful. I so appreciate the passion that you have shown for your educational futures. Seriously… no matter where you end up, you will be happy and successful because you have that persistence and drive. Your future colleges are so lucky to have you!!!

In case any of you didn’t see, this is the video that accompanied my acceptance email.

Sorry, my phone has been acting really weird lately and it takes forever to load this website. But I did end up getting accepted! Which is exciting i guess, but I honestly don’t think it should’ve taken this long. But anyway, I’m going to UT now…so Hook 'Em & Go Blue! lol.

So glad to hear that! Since you started this discussion, I am sure you have lots of “fans”!!

Hey guys, haven’t posted here in a while. Just wanted to give a final update on my plans. I was wait listed at Michigan, but I’m not going to accept the spot. I’ll be going to UCLA next fall instead!

Congrats Theinstigator! UCLA is a great school!

Hey everyone! This is in response to Ottawa since we were in the same boat for Kinesiology a while back ago! My final decision I got was a wait list! Good luck to those that got rejected with your other choices and congratz to those that got accepted! We, the waitlisted, are still in the running so don’t lose hope yet…its a long wait but it may be worth it in the end…

Does wait listing work this way?: If someone that was accepted turns down the acceptance (for whatever reason), the next in line wait listed person gets accepted?

No, I believe that for waitlists, they see how many open spots in the class are left by the time everyone has enrolled, and then they offer spots to those who they deem are the most qualified in the waitlist pool. It’s basically insurance, to always make sure the class is the size they want it to be. This is why so few are taken off it, as two years ago (the most recent data I know of) only 40-ish out of a pool of around 4,500 students who accepted a spot on the waitlist ended up being offered admission. Three years ago, it was 70-ish out of a little less than 4,000.

Is anyone else still waiting for a decision? I haven’t heard back a second time yet and I’m starting to get worried…

There were still some acceptances in early April last year.

I wish you all a lot of luck, wherever you wind up going. And I came back recently to check and see how you did, faiintx, great work! :)

Thanks Sapharodon! Have fun at MSU :)

Fun satirical article about what it takes to get into the elite schools…

^^^ And the author basically announced this morning on the Today show that she is going to Michigan!

Isn’t today the last day for decisions? Mine still isnt out :,(
